Egypt speaks but does not solve?
Last Tuesday, Jordanian King Abdullah II was quoted by the PETRA news agency as announcing that neither Jordan nor Egypt will take in Palestinian refugees from Gaza since "The situation has a range of humanitarian aspects that have to be decided on Palestinian territories in the Gaza Strip and in the West Bank. It is impossible to try to force a situation concerning Palestinians' future on other countries," he said after meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
Even after speaking with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that Turkey opposes the forced displacement of Palestinians to Egypt.

"It is necessary to avoid civilian casualties. Some countries are trying to present the arbitrary repression of Israel in Gaza as a justified intervention. Such a distorted and inhumane approach leads only to increasing violence and the death of innocent people."
"I repeat, once again, that we are inviting Israel to comply with international law. We are against the displacement of Palestinians. We will never approve of the expulsion policy to Egypt," Fidan added at the press conference with Shoukry in Cairo.
