The al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced that its fighters targeted an Israeli Merkava tank with an al-Yassin 105 shell on Saturday near the Dawla intersection, south of the al-Zaytoun neighborhood in southern Gaza City.

The Israeli newspaper Maariv reported on Sunday, citing a military source, that the Israeli army has observed a shift in the combat tactics used by the al-Qassam fighters in the Gaza Strip. The source said that Hamas fighters have become more organized in combat and are showing greater boldness in confronting Israeli forces.

"Unlike what happened in Beit Hanoun a few weeks ago, we're now seeing militants rigging roads with mines and carrying out multiple anti-tank missile attacks against our forces," the source added.

Back in late July, Hamas' al-Qassam Brigades released a statement vowing to sustain a long-term campaign of attrition against Israeli forces in Gaza, threatening to employ fresh and unpredictable tactics throughout the coastal enclave, from Beit Hanoun to Rafah.

Meanwhile, fighters from the Martyr Omar al-Qassam Forces, the military wing of the Democratic Front, reported after returning from the frontlines that they had blown up a pre-planted high-explosive device, striking an Israeli Merkava tank near the Al-Barassi area in southern Zeitoun, east of Gaza City, on August 15, 2025.

On its part, the al-Quds Brigades announced bombing the settlements of Be'eri and Shokeda in the Gaza envelope with a number of rockets "in response to the enemy's crimes against our people."

The brigades also said its fighters had destroyed an Israeli military vehicle on Saturday using a powerful, reverse-engineered explosive device detonated as the armored unit advanced into the Hassan al-Banna sector of Gaza City's al-Zaytoun neighborhood.

Additionally, the al-Quds Brigades released footage showing its fighters operating from an advanced combat outpost while targeting Israeli occupation forces that had pushed deep into eastern Gaza City using mortar shells.

The video opened with a Resistance fighter speaking about martyr Mohammad Saeed Izadi, known as Hajj Ramadan. The martyr served as the Palestinian affairs official in Iran's Quds Force, a branch of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps, before being killed in "Israel's" recent war on Iran.

The fighter spoke as images of Izadi filled the screen, describing him as the shadowy mastermind behind the Resistance, a senior commander known as Hajj Ramadan who dedicated himself entirely to the Palestinian cause and worked tirelessly day and night for the liberation of Palestine.

The fighter went on to explain that what truly distinguished Hajj Ramadan was his constant attention to and concern for the Resistance fighters, particularly those in the al-Quds and al-Qassam brigades, as he tirelessly worked to meet all their needs, much like a devoted father caring for his children.

Hajj Ramadan's essence lies in every shot in Gaza

"Hajj Ramadan built an extraordinary legacy in fighting the occupation, every round fired, every rocket launched, every shell that falls in Gaza carries his influence, and after God's will, we owe our strength to him, with his memory forever etched in our hearts, our minds, and in every act of resistance we carry out on the ground," the Resistance fighter added.

The fighter continued, "We, in the al-Quds Brigades, from within our advanced combat outposts, say to the soul of the martyr that this project for the complete liberation of Palestine, and what we are carrying out in crushing the enemy's forces and concentrations east of Gaza, is an offering to his spirit. By God's will, we remain steadfast in our pledge until the land and its people are freed from occupation."

"God willing, our Lord will empower us; He won't let our struggle go to waste. He'll keep us steadfast on the battlefield, strengthen our fighters, and grant us victory. We'll keep fighting until our last bullet is spent, and we'll remain here until God grants us either triumph or martyrdom," the fighter concluded.

It is worth noting that the Palestinian brigades' operations are part of Resistance tactics designed to wear down occupying forces using armor-piercing explosives, a strategy that has repeatedly proven effective in urban combat.
