Getting rid of dependency 'key to political independence': IRGC chief
Major General Hossein Salami stresses that the nation will advance with diligence and endurance based on its internal capabilities and competencies.
IRGC Commander-in-Chief Major General Hossein Salami stated that getting rid of dependency is essential to achieve political independence.
The IRGC commander highlighted, "We must be firm and act strongly in order to overcome the existing challenges," during a conference of the Khatam Al-Anbiya Construction Headquarters held on Wednesday in Tehran.
He added that in the modern world, one cannot be weak and act autonomously and that weak countries and governments will quickly come to an end.

The Major General stressed that the Islamic nation has decided to be powerful, emphasizing that achieving political independence requires both acquiring strength and becoming self-sufficient in the manufacturing sector.
According to Major General Salami, the nation will advance with diligence and endurance based on its internal capabilities and competencies, adding that "the enemies of the country want the Iranian people to be dependent on them while the noble nation of the country has chosen the right path of acting independently in line with overcoming the existing problems."
He pointed out that getting rid of dependency is the key to achieving political independency and that this issue must be taken into serious consideration, explaining that independence means not accepting the influence of the others' will, whereby the Iranian people would act according to their national will while enemies of the country want exactly the opposite.
