Hamas 'ready to implement national agreements, support committee'
Hamas stresses its responsiveness to initiatives and proposals that aim at reviving Gaza and rescuing it from attempts of eradication.
The Hamas Resistance movement affirmed on Friday its responsiveness to the Egyptian-led efforts over the past few months, revealing that it sought to establish a national consensus or technocratic government.
Earlier in December, Hamas agreed to Egypt's proposal to form a joint committee for governing the Gaza Strip following a series of meetings with representatives from the Fatah movement under Egypt's mediation, announcing that its leadership delegation concluded discussions in Cairo, where they held comprehensive talks with Fatah about establishing a committee to manage the Gaza Strip.
Hamas stated that it has always responded positively to Egypt's Islamic and Arab-backed efforts, to form a committee for community support aimed at temporarily handling the Gaza Strip's affairs, whose political reference should be the Palestinian presidential decree, and whose emphasis is that Gaza is an integral part of Palestinian political geography.
The statement issued by the Palestinian Resistance movement also noted that "an important step forward with the Fatah movement under Egypt’s sponsorship to form [the committee], and then it reached agreements with multiple national forces, factions, figures, and events on several suggestions for members with national and professional competencies, which were delivered to the brothers in Egypt."
Hamas further expressed hope that the Fatah movement and Palestinian authority would respond to efforts to form the Community Support Committee within the framework of the Palestinian political system and work through national consensus and its political legitimacy.

"We affirm our readiness to implement any of the agreements we have reached nationally, and we are open to any formula that would unify our people and institutions and restore the significance of our political system," the Resistance said.
The statement also noted that Hamas recently received an abundance of national initiatives and proposals within its framework, aimed at rescuing the Gaza Strip from the ongoing genocide and systematic destruction perpetrated by the Israeli occupation, "with Western complicity and a shocking international failure."
The Resistance additionally stressed that it has, with all sincerity and seriousness, worked to organize the Palestinian land, strengthen its unity, and restore the Palestinian political system's significance.
"To this end, we have shown great flexibility to reach national agreements and consensus, whether through successive Cairo agreements, in Algeria, or even in Russia and China, and have diligently sought their implementation."
Concluding its statement, Hamas emphasized that Palestinian land and cause are facing the risks of erasure and annihilation, and called for unity, cohesion, and the unification of all Palestinian national forces to form a comprehensive resistance in response to the challenges and threats to their existence.
