Hamdan: Resistance factions embody the region's future
Senior Hamas official Osama Hamdan says the Resistance factions constitute the future of the region and reject any flaw in it, spearheaded by "Israel".
Senior Hamas official Osama Hamdan said Wednesday that the Israeli occupation entity, which appears coherent on the surface, had its severe divisions exposed due to the Resistance's actions.
In an interview for Al Mayadeen, Hamdan mentioned that "Israel" is capable of continuing the war for months but affirmed that the Palestinian Resistance is capable of persisting with its operations.
Hamdan said that Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expected Hamas to reject the Paris Document but was surprised by the Palestinian Resistance movement's positive response.
He noted that Netanyahu's stance could be a prelude to negotiations, stressing, however, that the worst-case scenario is that he pursues the war, affirming that he is destined to fail.
Netanyahu on Wednesday dismissed Hamas' demand for a ceasefire and ordered troops to prepare to invade the city of Rafah in Gaza's far south, where more than one million Palestinians have sought refuge.
The Palestinian official indicated that there is growing divergence within the Israeli occupation government regarding the course of operations in Gaza, adding that Netanyahu is not concerned about maintaining the image of the Israeli military.
Touching on the recent Saudi statement, Hamdan said the Saudi stance is a "step in the right direction" but pointed out that the Resistance prefers a position where there is no room for normalizing ties with the Israeli occupation.
On Wednesday, the Saudi Foreign Ministry said Saudi Arabia will establish diplomatic relations with "Israel" only if a Palestinian state is recognized within its 1967 borders with the eastern part of al-Quds as its capital and the aggression on the Gaza Strip is ended.
Hamdan stressed that the Resistance factions constitute the future of the region and reject any flaw in it, spearheaded by the Zionist entity, indicating that the enemy was surprised by the unity of the Resistance in Gaza and the region.
The Hamas official saluted martyr Abu Baqer al-Saedi, also known as "Abu Baqer Diyala", a leading figure in Iraqi Kataib Hezbollah, who was killed in an airstrike east of Baghdad, deeming him a martyr on the path to al-Quds.
Hamdan said the recent aggression on Iraq is an assault on the country's sovereignty, adding that Washington realizes that the comprehensive, integrated work of the Axis of Resistance is aimed at confronting Israel.”
In a related context, the Palestinian official noted that the Resistance in Lebanon continues to inflict losses of a strategic nature on the Israeli occupation.
He suggested that Netanyahu is unable to establish a force capable of launching an aggression on Lebanon and is concealing the true figures of Israeli settlers who evacuated settlements in northern Palestine, with the numbers being much higher than claimed.
Netanyahu's continuation of Gaza war shows goal is 'genocide': Hamdan
Earlier, Hamdan told a news conference in Beirut that Netanyahu's continued pursuit of war in Gaza was clear proof that the goal was to commit "genocide" against Palestinians.
Netanyahu's "insistence on continuing the aggression totally confirms that the goal of the aggression on Gaza is genocide against the Palestinian people," he said.
"We will exert every effort to protect our people, whether through the resistance on the ground or... political efforts to stop the aggression," Hamdan underlined.
The Palestinian official confirmed that a Hamas delegation led by senior official Khalil al-Hayya would travel to Cairo on Thursday "to follow up on" the negotiations within the framework of Egyptian-Qatari efforts.
Elsewhere, Hamdan urged "all resistance factions... to continue the fight" and to be cautious of Israeli "treachery during the final quarter-hour of this confrontation, particularly as we are seeking to end the aggression in a way that befits the sacrifices of our people and resistance."
