"Israel" is sabotaging mediated talks with the Palestinian Resistance in Doha, Qatar, the head of Hamas' Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh revealed on Tuesday.

"The actions of the Zionist occupation forces at Al-Shifa Medical Complex confirm their intent to obstruct the recovery of life in Gaza and dismantle essential aspects of human existence," Haniyeh stated in reference to an ongoing Israeli attack on Gaza's largest medical facility.

"The deliberate targeting of police officers and government officials in Gaza illustrates their efforts to sow chaos and perpetuate violence among our resilient people. [The attack on Al-Shifa] also reveals the occupation leaders' endeavor to sabotage ongoing negotiations in Doha," he explained.

"We affirm [such actions] will not succeed in achieving the criminal plots and the movement will hold on to the rights of its people and clear demands for stopping the aggression, the full withdrawal (of Israeli forces), and the return of displaced [Palestinians to their homes]," Haniyeh concluded.

'Israel' assassinates police officer responsible for aid delivery coordination

Earlier on Tuesday, the Islamic Resistance Movement - Hamas underlined the Israeli occupation's "cowardice" following their assassination of the Director of Central Police Operations, martyr Fayeq al-Mabhouh, who had been devoted to maintaining security and coordinating safe aid deliveries to the northern Gaza Strip.

Hamas emphasized that al-Mabhouh also put effort into securing the arrival of relief aid to Gaza and the north and affirmed that the assassination was aimed at "preventing the safe delivery of aid to our people."

Hamas affirmed that the Palestinian people and their security forces continue to strike the enemy's plots and prevent them from spreading chaos and disorganization in our resilient society. Martyr al-Mabhouh was assassinated in his office in Al-Shifa Medical Complex earlier on Monday after multiple units attacked the facility attempting to detain him.

Reportedly, he refused to turn himself in and confronted the large Israeli force, killing at least one Israeli soldier from the Nahal Brigade with a handgun.

Purportedly, al-Mabhouh worked on establishing communication networks with local families in the northern Gaza Strip to ensure the safe delivery of aid to Jabalia and other towns outside the control of Israeli occupation forces, following multiple massacres committed by Israeli forces in the Kuwait Roundabout in southern Gaza City.

Officials explained that al-Mabhouh had taken on a strict humanitarian role to promote the livelihood of Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
