Hezbollah 'most powerful non-governmental entity in region': MSNBC
The American news outlet MSNBC details the war scenario if "Israel" launches war against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
The MSNBC network discussed in a report the "catastrophic" scenario the Israeli occupation would witness if it wages a war against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
In detail, the network said "Israel" would be forced to face an opponent that is not only the most powerful non-governmental entity in the Middle East, but also one that fights more effectively than most armies in the region.
Hezbollah in 2024 is larger, better armed, more experienced, and politically stronger than Hezbollah in 2006, according to MSNBC. It was further stated that in its current state, Hezbollah "resembles an army that possesses 200,000 rockets and missiles of various ranges."
The war scenario
In the event of war, it was relayed that the Islamic Resistance's missile can target any site in "Israel", particularly its vital civilian infrastructure, airports, ports, electrical networks, and power stations.
Millions of Israeli settlers will move into shelters, amid the intense bombardment occupied territories, from Tel Aviv to Haifa, would be subjected to by barrages of the Resistance's missiles and rockets, which the Iron Dome cannot fully intercept.
The report noted that the Israeli ground forces would partake in the fight against Hezbollah after garnering military tactics, operations, and procedures following years of presence in Syria.
Moreover, it would be difficult to imagine the achievement of the Israeli goal to return to the north in light of a full-scale war against the Lebanese Resistance, because it would incur material and human losses and damages in the Israeli settlements on the Palestinian-Lebanese border.
The situation in the occupied north would also be exacerbated, with the economy plunging further as settlers abandon their settlements for safety.
The report then said "Israel" should think more profoundly before launching a full-scale war against Hezbollah, because it would risk Iran's intervention, and that of the factions of the Axis of Resistance in Syria, Iraq, and Yemen.
The US is not immune
Regarding the US forces in the region, mainly Syria and Iraq, they would not be immune in the event of a Lebanese-Israeli war, a pattern that has been recurrently observed, the network highlighted. US military sites in both countries constitute military targets for the Resistance, and they would be attacked as a message of condemnation of Israeli and US policies in the region.
Reportedly, "American officials must realize that in any war between Israel and Hezbollah there is a possibility that Americans will not be immune from the consequences."
Moreover, the "United States may not be able to control Israeli policy, but it should not fall into its trap", the report added, stressing that the US should instead make it clear to Israeli officials, publicly and privately, that it does not support the war in Lebanon and will not come to their rescue if they decide to ignite one.
On Biden's dangerous approach
In this context, the network indicated that the Biden administration is adopting a dangerous approach towards "Israel's" war on the northern front, as it is currently trying to "exploit every opportunity to confirm the ugliness of the war between Israel and Hezbollah, while confirming its automatic support regardless of what Israel decides to do."
MSNBC added that "President Biden must start dealing realistically with Israel," as his policy is likely to "encourage Netanyahu, not discourage him, which is a dangerous approach."
Senior US officials assured a delegation of top Israeli officials visiting Washington last week that the Biden administration is fully prepared to support its ally in case of a full-scale war with Hezbollah, CNN reported, citing a senior administration official.
The Biden administration has consistently claimed that it wants to avoid a war between "Israel" and Hezbollah, advocating for diplomatic de-escalation. This week, US envoy Amos Hochstein was sent to the region in an attempt to supposedly help ease tensions.
Sources revealed that the Israeli and American officials discussed various topics, including the situation along the border with Lebanon, Iran, and ceasefire and prisoner exchange negotiations.
The senior administration official mentioned that US officials emphasized that the Biden administration would provide "Israel" with the necessary security assistance, but noted that American troops would not be deployed on the ground.
