Hezbollah drone strikes Israeli sites in occupied Lebanese territory
The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon launches drone strikes on Israeli military sites in occupied southern Lebanon in a remarkable operation
The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon - Hezbollah claimed responsibility on Saturday for a drone attack that targeted a gathering of Israeli occupation forces outside the Ramim barracks in the occupied Lebanese town of Hounin, with confirmed casualties.
The operation is noteworthy due to the terrain and geography of the targeted site, as the Hounin Valley, the "Ramim" barracks, and the forests of the so-called "Margaliot"/occupied Hounin area are in a low-altitude area surrounded by two mountains and of which there is limited view from Lebanon. Moreover, the front edge, which was attacked by the Resistance, is monitored by the Israeli occupation around the clock.
The announcement wherein Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the operation was followed by another in which it said that its Resistance fighters attacked the Israeli "Metula" site using guided munitions, adding that it was able to verify several casualties.
The Resistance's media wing announced that the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon conducted 509 operations against the Israeli occupation in northern occupied Palestine and occupied southern Lebanon, with 58 distinct sites and barracks attacked since the start of the aggression on Gaza.
Reportedly, 209 operations were carried out using precision-guided missiles, 131 others were carried out using artillery systems, 35 were carried out using the renowned Burkan rocket, and nine were carried out using UAVs.
'Dangerous' incident
Reports coming from Israeli media outlets described the incident as "dangerous" and said it resulted in at least two settlers being injured after a kamikaze drone exploded in "Margaliot" in northern occupied Palestine.
Preliminary reports from the Israeli occupation suggest that the operation killed at least one individual, critically wounded another, and resulted in mild injuries for two.
According to the Israeli occupation's media, the regime imposed a ban on the publication of any details regarding the security incident in the north, though reports indicate that the drone launched by Hezbollah accurately hit its targets.
Earlier in the day, the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon announced that its fighters targeted a bunker where Israeli soldiers were entrenched in the occupied Birket Risha military site with a guided missile, resulting in confirmed casualties.
The statement released by the military media at 8:44 am reported that the Resistance targeted the IOF military site at 7:10 am "in solidarity with the steadfast Palestinian people in Gaza, and in support of their valiant and honorable resistance".
Concurrently, Israeli media reported that sirens had sounded in the "Zar'it" settlement near the Lebanese borders.
Northern Israeli settlers frustrated
Israeli media highlighted the frustration experienced by residents of northern Israeli settlements due to the Israeli government's handling of the tense situation along the border with Lebanon.
David Azoulay, the head of the "Metula" settlement council, told the Israeli Channel 13 that a situation under which a heavy presence of Israeli soldiers is present in "Metula" cannot be tolerated, implying that settlers "cannot enter" under such circumstances.
Azoulay underlined that having Israeli soldiers within the settlements is not a solution, nor does it provide security or a sense of security amid the ongoing situation.
He continued, "I want and ask the Israeli government to tell us only what it intends to do and when. This is what we want to know," adding, "We are frustrated."
A couple of days ago, the same Israeli official confirmed that all "civilian" infrastructure in Israeli settlements within 4 kilometers of the border with Lebanon is not operational due to ongoing Hezbollah attacks.
In a related context, the head of the Israeli occupation Regional Council in Upper al-Jalil, Giora Zaltz, commented on the fact that Islamic Resistance operations continue in the direction of northern occupied Palestine, criticizing the conduct of Benjamin Netanyahu's government.
Decision-making in Hezbollah's hands
In an interview for Israeli Radio 103FM, Zaltz said, “We are keeping the keys with (Sayyed Hassan) Nasrallah and not with us, and he does as he sees fit,” referring to the intensity of the operations on the Lebanese-Palestinian border.
Israeli media previously reported that the Israeli occupation authorities evacuated new settlements in northern occupied Palestine, highlighting that these settlements had not been evacuated since 1948.
The confrontations in northern occupied Palestine between Hezbollah and the Israeli forces are proving painful for the settlers of the north, Israeli KAN public broadcaster correspondent Han Biar said on Tuesday.
Life is reportedly becoming more and more difficult due to the evacuations they must oblige with due to the extensive damages dealt to their homes, the Israeli journalist described.
Israeli Channel 13 correspondent, Shlomi Eldar, also emphasized that Israeli settlements such as "Metulla, Shtula, Kiryat Shmona, and others adjacent to the border with Lebanon are within the range of Hezbollah's missiles all the time."
"Hezbollah is present near the border and has stepped up its anti-tank missile attacks," Eldar mentioned, stressing that the attacks against Israeli sites have become "more accurate and dangerous."
