Hezbollah announced that Hossam Muhammad Ibrahim, Ali Raif Ftouni, and Ali Hassan Hodroj, three fighters in the Lebanese Islamic Resistance - Hezbollah - were martyred today following a campaign of Israeli shelling on villages in South Lebanon, which lasted for around two hours.

Earlier in the evening, Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Lebanon reported that gunfire and shelling were heard in al-Dhayra in South-West Lebanon near the border with occupied Palestine.

Simultaneously, Israeli media had also reported that four fighters attempted to infiltrate the settlement of "Arab Al-Aramshe" which is adjacent to the Lebanese village of al-Dhayra.

It was specified that a group of Palestinian resistance fighters affiliated with Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, had initiated the operation. Two of the four fighters were reportedly killed by Israeli forces.

The infiltration operation led to the injury of 7 Israeli soldiers, including one in serious condition.

Israeli media reported on Sunday that the struggle with Lebanon will not resemble the struggle in the southern region, stressing that “Israel” does not want a battle in the north.

Channel 12 military affairs commentator Nir Dvori said, “No one can say where things are headed in the north, so there are very high preparations there,” adding that “some of the forces that were recruited during the last 24 hours have gone up to the north.”

Moreover, Dvori noted, "It must be said that the border with Lebanon is not like the border in the south. Its situation is worse, at least in a large part of the places," stressing that "therefore, this matter put Israel in another place in terms of protecting the settlements, and it is not in vain that many forces were summoned there."

The Lebanese Resistance Party, Hezbollah, had claimed responsibility for the simultaneous targeting of three Israeli military sites located in the occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms on Sunday.

"On the path of liberating what is left of our occupied Lebanese land and in solidarity with the triumphant Palestinian Resistance and the [persevering] and patient Palestinian people... groups of martyr leader Hajj Imad Mughniyeh, this Sunday morning, corresponding to 8 October 2023, attacked three occupation sites in the occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms," the Resistance party said in a statement.

The sites were targeted with large barrages of mortar shells as well as guided missiles, and they are ar-Radar, Zebdine, and Ruwaisat al-Alam.
