Hezbollah maintains 'civilian for civilian' deterrence: Israeli media
Israeli Channel 13 correspondent reports that Hezbollah's anti-tank missiles are dangerous because Israeli radar alarm systems are not effective in detecting them.
Israeli media warned that Hezbollah's missiles, which have Israeli sites and settlements in the crosshairs, have grown increasingly advanced and dangerous.
Israeli Channel 13 correspondent, Shlomi Eldar, said settlements such as "Metulla, Shtula, Kiryat Shmona, and others adjacent to the border with Lebanon are within the range of Hezbollah's missiles all the time."
"Hezbollah is present near the border and has stepped up its anti-tank missile attacks," adding that the attacks against Israeli sites have become "more accurate and dangerous."
Referring to yesterday's operations in which Hezbollah targeted 15 sites in "Metulla" using anti-tank missiles, the Israeli correspondent explained that Hezbollah's missiles have become a significant threat because Israeli alarm systems are not effective at detecting them.
In the same context, the correspondent of Kan in northern occupied Palestine noted that Hezbollah targeted "Metulla" yesterday to maintain the deterrence equation it declared earlier: a civilian for a civilian.
Therefore, its retaliation in "Metula" "came after the killing of the mayor of one of the Lebanese villages [Taybeh] after its shelling by Israeli occupation forces."
The Deputy Security Chief in "Metulla" said that what's happening in the North during the confrontations with Hezbollah is unprecedented, not even in the 2006 July War.
The Israeli official said "Metulla" is a ghost settlement.
"The residents refuse to return while Hezbollah and the Radwan Special Forces remain stationed along the borders," he added.
"While our families have left Metula, we see the Lebanese in the villages across the borders normally going about their everyday life," he contrasted.

Yesterday, the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, Hezbollah, announced that its fighters had carried out an operation against Israeli occupation forces (IOF) against a housing unit in the "Metulla" settlement with missiles in response to the killing of a Lebanese mayor in the southern town of Taybeh.
Taybeh's Mayor Hussein Mansour was martyred at the age of 80 in his residence, located a few kilometers away from the blue line separating Lebanon and occupied Palestine, his relative Mohamed Mansour informed Reuters.
Hezbollah confirmed direct hits, and several IOF troops were hit.
Channel 14 reported that Hezbollah launched two anti-tank missiles on the settlement, destroying two buildings.
