Hezbollah’s Sheikh Qassem mourns martyred Yemeni commander al-Ghamari
Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem sent condolences to Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, mourning Yemeni commander Major General Mohammed al-Ghamari, who was killed in an Israeli attack.

Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem sent a message of condolence and solidarity to Ansar Allah leader Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi following the assassination of Yemeni Armed Forces Chief of Staff, Major General Mohammed Abdul Karim al-Ghamari, who was killed in a “cowardly Zionist attack.”
In his letter, Sheikh Qassem wrote, “We received with deep sorrow and pain the news of the martyrdom of ... Major General Mohammed Abdul Karim al-Ghamari, Chief of Staff, who rose to martyrdom on the path to al-Quds along with a group of his companions as a result of a cowardly attack carried out by the criminal Zionist enemy.”
The Hezbollah leader extended his condolences to al-Houthi, the Yemeni leadership, the armed forces, and the “steadfast Yemeni people,” while offering “blessings and congratulations for this honorable martyrdom.” Sheikh Qassem added, “We ask Almighty God to envelop him with His vast mercy and raise his rank.”
'He broke the might of the US and terrified the Zionists'
Praising al-Ghamari’s legacy, Sheikh Qassem said, “The great commander al-Ghamari earned the highest honor through his martyrdom, after a life full of sacrifice and struggle. He led the Yemeni Armed Forces with bravery, supporting Gaza and its people in the face of US-Zionist crimes, shattering the might of US forces in the Red Sea and terrifying the Zionists with his decisive strikes.”
He described al-Ghamari’s martyrdom as “a source of pride and dignity for the entire Ummah,” noting that the “pure blood of the martyrs, from Yemen to Lebanon, Iraq, and Iran, has mingled with that of the Palestinians for the most sacred cause and against the most tyrannical powers on earth.”
Sheikh Qassem also congratulated the appointment of Major General Yusuf Hassan al-Madani as the new Chief of Staff of the Yemeni Armed Forces, expressing confidence in the continuation of the resistance path. “We congratulate you on appointing Major General Youssef Hassan al-Madani as Chief of Staff and wish him success and steadfastness in continuing the jihadist path of the martyred al-Ghamari,” he said.
“We are certain that the sacrifice of this pure blood will, God-willing, yield a blessed victory and bring honor to the Ummah,” Qassem continued. “This struggle will continue through the determination of brave leaders and the loyal people who carry the banner of defending the entire Ummah and its just causes.”
Al-Ghamari martyred
The Yemeni Armed Forces announced the martyrdom of its Chief of Staff, Major General Mohammad Abd al-Karim al-Ghamari, in a televised statement published on Thursday.
The statement said that the YAF Chief of Staff was martyred along with his companions, as well as his 13-year-old son Hussein, emphasizing that Major General al-Ghamari was killed while performing his duty in supporting Palestine.
"It is a source of pride and a solace to the nation in its grief that the Quranic path is blessed with great leaders, such as the Martyr and his companions in jihad and responsibility. These are steadfast and sincere mujahideen, leaders who continue the journey with a spirit of faith and struggle, guided by Quranic awareness, profound knowledge, accumulated expertise, and broad experience," the statement said.
