Hezbollah slams Trump’s Gaza plan: Ethnic cleansing in disguise
In a scathing rebuke, Hezbollah has condemned Donald Trump’s proposal, calling it a blatant attempt to achieve through political maneuvering what "Israel" failed to accomplish through war.
Hezbollah has strongly denounced former US President Donald Trump’s proposal to forcibly displace Palestinians in Gaza to the outside of Palestine, warning that "Israel will not achieve through peace what it failed to accomplish through war.”
In a statement issued Friday, the Lebanese Resistance movement dismissed Trump’s remarks as part of a “deceitful and reckless” narrative aimed at justifying ethnic cleansing under the guise of humanitarian concern.
“Trump and his allies will soon realize that this land cannot be subjected to the whims of American delusion,” Hezbollah stated.
Furthermore, the movement framed the proposed forcible displacement as an extension of what it described as "Israel’s" ongoing campaign to erase Palestinian identity.
It warned that any leniency in confronting the plan would embolden further mass expulsions, not only from Gaza but across the West Bank and potentially from the territories occupied in 1948.
The movement also called on Arab and Islamic nations to take decisive action, cautioning that Trump’s approach could set a dangerous precedent for foreign meddling and resource exploitation across the region.
“A dark fate awaits those who stand by idly—one that will leave no sovereignty, no wealth, and no free nations,” the movement stressed.
'Palestinians have no alternative' but to leave Gaza, Trump says
US President Donald Trump stated on Tuesday that Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have "no alternative" but to leave, describing the besieged enclave as a "demolition site".
"I think that if they have the opportunity, they would love to [move]. If they had an alternative… they have no alternative right now," Trump told reporters. "I mean, have you seen the picture of it, have you been there? I mean, it is terrible there. Who can live like that?"
Trump further claimed that Gaza was "unsafe" and "unsanitary", adding, "What is Gaza? There is practically not a building standing… The whole place is demolished. It is not a place where people want to live."
In addition to his remarks on Gaza, Trump expressed support for the idea of Jordan and Egypt accepting Palestinians from the Strip.
"We continue to press for this idea that Jordan and Egypt take Palestinians from Gaza," he said. "Yeah, I would like to see Jordan, I'd like to see Egypt take some [Palestinians]."
The statement comes amid growing international concerns over the Israeli occupation's ongoing military assault on Gaza, which has led to mass displacement and humanitarian devastation. In a similar vein, Trump avoided answering a reporter's question in the Oval Office on whether he would support "Israel" usurping more parts of the West Bank, instead offering an unusual analogy about the country's size.
