Hezbollah: Britain's Designation of Hamas as "Terrorist" Wrong and Unjust
Hezbollah describes the UK's recent decision as unjust and biased towards the Israeli occupation and calls on London to reverse this decision.
Today, Saturday, Hezbollah condemned the United Kingdom's recent decision to classify Hamas as a "terrorist" organization, asserting that the decision was "wrong and unjust".
The statement said the decision is "an unfortunate extension of British policy, which is characterized by complete bias toward Israel and its policies which are based on killing, terrorism, massacres, and destruction," calling on the UK to "review its miscalculations and reverse its decision."
Hezbollah expressed its belief that this decision will not affect the Palestinian people, Hamas and its honorable freedom fighters, and the other resistance factions. On the contrary, it will increase their determination and resolve to struggle and resist until full victory and liberation.
On their part, the Palestinian Resistance factions, earlier today, responded to the UK's decision, saying that "the Palestinian people, with all their unified forces, reject the United Kingdom's decision to regard Hamas as a terrorist organization."
Within the same context, a member of Hamas political bureau, Mahmoud Mezher, told Al Mayadeen that "he TUK's decision is to satisfy Israel and support normalization," noting that it's the Israeli lobby in Britain which pushed for this decision.
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemned London, regarding the decision as "subjugation to Israeli pressure." Furthermore, the Embassy of Palestine in London said the decision concurs with the agenda of the occupation, which seeks to criminalize the plight of the Palestinian people and to destroy any chances of reaching a just solution that complies with international law and resolutions.
Home Secretary of the United Kingdom, Priti Patel, announced Friday that the move to designate Hamas as a "terrorist organization" is in line with the stances of the United States and the European Union.
