The Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF) filed a criminal complaint in Greece on Friday against an Israeli occupation soldier accused of committing war crimes and acts of genocide amid the war on Gaza, Anadolu reported.
According to HRF, the complaint was submitted to the Public Prosecutor of the Court of First Instance in Athens against Naor Shlomo Dadon, a member of the Israeli army’s Givati Brigade, 432nd Infantry Battalion “Tzabar". Greek lawyer Evgenia Koniaki filed the complaint, which is supported by a 70-page report documenting Dadon’s deployment in Gaza from August 2024 to August 2025.

HRF said the evidence includes images and social media posts showing Dadon’s involvement in the destruction of civilian areas in Rafah and Jabalia, the burning of Hamad Bin Khalifa School, and posts glorifying the devastation.
The foundation noted that Dadon is currently attending a “mental resilience” retreat in Zagora, Magnesia, organized by the Israeli group "Rising Heroes". HRF criticized the program as providing “impunity disguised as wellness,” stressing that it shields Israeli soldiers from accountability.
“There can be no safe haven in Europe for individuals who took part in the destruction of a civilian population,” HRF Chairman Dyab Abou Jahjah said.
The complaint calls on Greek authorities to investigate Dadon under universal jurisdiction provisions in the Greek Penal Code, the Geneva Conventions, and the Rome Statute. The crimes include targeting schools and civilian objects, widespread property destruction, and deliberately inflicting conditions of life amounting to genocide.
Earlier this month, HRF filed a similar complaint in Greece against another soldier from the same battalion, Yair Ohana. That case has been transferred to the Preliminary Investigation Department of the Corfu Court of First Instance.
Another Israeli war criminal in the Netherlands
On September 18, the Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF) filed a formal complaint in the Netherlands calling for the immediate arrest and prosecution of First Lieutenant Assaf Aviram, an officer in the Israeli army’s 601st Combat Engineering Battalion, over war crimes and genocide in Gaza between 2024 and 2025.
The complaint, submitted by HRF legal counsel Haroon Raza to the Dutch National Public Prosecutor’s Office, follows an investigative report documenting Aviram’s role in the systematic destruction of the Jabalia refugee camp. According to the report, Aviram personally commanded bulldozer and demolition teams that razed civilian neighborhoods and posted images and videos on social media glorifying the operations.

HRF asserted that Aviram’s actions constitute genocide, including “deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part,” as well as war crimes, including attacks on civilian objects and “extensive and wanton destruction of property not justified by military necessity.”
As an Israeli platoon commander, Aviram is considered liable as an indirect co-perpetrator or under the doctrine of command responsibility, HRF said.
Under Geneva Conventions, arrests are a must
The filing stresses that under the Geneva Conventions, the Netherlands has a duty to search for, arrest, and prosecute individuals suspected of grave breaches found on Dutch territory. The complaint also cites Dutch constitutional obligations to uphold international law.
HRF pointed to precedents supporting accountability, including ICC arrest warrants issued last November against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Security Minister Yoav Gallant for crimes against humanity and war crimes in Gaza.
A UN Commission of Inquiry similarly concluded that "Israel" bears responsibility for failing to prevent genocide and committing acts of genocide against Palestinians.
“The presence of Assaf Aviram on Dutch soil presents a clear test of the Netherlands’ commitment to international law and justice,” HRF said. The foundation has provided detailed evidence and legal grounds establishing his involvement in war crimes and genocide.
“The Hind Rajab Foundation reaffirms its mission to end Israeli impunity by pursuing perpetrators, accomplices, and enablers of grave international crimes in every jurisdiction where justice can be sought,” the organization added.
