Martin Griffiths, the UN humanitarian chief, details the horrific situation in Gaza as "Israel" remains as destructive and barbaric in its quest to annihilate the Strip.

Martin Griffiths, the UN humanitarian chief, has once again issued a statement detailing the horrific situation in Gaza as "Israel" remains as destructive and barbaric in its quest to annihilate the Strip.

Recently, Griffiths declared Gaza "uninhabitable" as threats of famine, disastrous Israeli bombings, and a collapsed health system ravage the land and imperil 2.3 million Palestinians forced to face the dangers.

According to Griffith's assessment, people are exposed to the cold as residential buildings, shelters, schools, and hospitals are targeted and destroyed. Even areas where displaced Palestinians were told to relocate have been deliberately targeted by the IOF.

Three months since the horrific 7 October attacks, Gaza has become a place of death and despair.

This war should never have started. But it’s long past time for it to end.

'Israel' causes medical terrors

Gaza's healthcare system is in complete shambles as a result of the relentless bombardment of hospitals and medical complexes. With barely any functional medical centers, the injured and ill cannot be accommodated at a healthy pace, leaving them vulnerable in the face of cold weather, infections, and diseases. Griffith's report mentioned about 180 births each day.

This is riddled with the "highest levels of food insecurity ever recorded" and the unfolding famine in the Strip. UNICEF released a report on Friday on the matter.

The report highlighted a concerning rise in cases of diarrhea among children under five, with numbers soaring from 48,000 to 71,000 in just one week starting December 17. A primary target for the Israeli occupation has been Gaza's hospitals, with barely any available anymore, making adequate healthcare nearly impossible for the afflicted children.

This translates to approximately 3,200 new cases of diarrhea daily, marking a staggering 2,000% increase within a short timeframe and underscoring the rapid deterioration of child health in the Gaza Strip.

The report also emphasized a growing number of children facing inadequate nutrition, raising fears of acute malnutrition and mortality surpassing famine thresholds, once again not underlining that this is due to the Israeli policy of starving Palestinians through blockade and besiegement, barring or heavily restricting the entry of any foodstuffs into Gaza.

Almost 90% of children are receiving two of the five essential food groups, while 25% of pregnant mothers reported that they're only getting one.

Helpless, hopeless UN

All attempts to assist Gaza have been rendered an impossible mission in the shadow of the conditions and factors affecting the process.

Two million people have been internally displaced, amounting to more than 85% of Gaza's population. Insufficient aid has been barely making its way to Gaza for three main reasons:

1. IOF deliberately target storage destroying aid sent to Gaza.

2. Palestinians either evacuate certain areas or are killed due to Israeli attacks, so aid does not reach them.

3. UN staffers and organization partners are killed by "Israel", diminishing the level of aid delivery.

Of course, that is when "Israel" does not blatantly and directly cut off aid deliveries, alongside electricity and water, rendering the land completely and utterly isolated from any basic life necessities.

This comes as the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the number of Palestinians martyred by the Israeli aggression has risen to 22,722, in addition to 58,166 injuries, in three months since "Israel" launched a mass murder spree under the guise of "destroying Hamas", a goal that has been declared unattainable and far-fetched.

As the Israeli aggression on Gaza persists for the 92nd day in a row, attacks are concentrated on the central and southern regions of the region.

As per the Ministry, the Israeli occupation committed 12 massacres against families in the Strip, killing 122 martyrs and injuring 256 within the past 24 hours only.
