The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will not be allowed to watch camera footage at the TESA Karaj complex before sanctions on Iran are lifted, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran said Thursday.
The 7th round of the Vienna talks on the Iranian nuclear deal between Tehran and major powers resumed on December 9.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein AmirAbdollahian announced Wednesday that Iran reached a "good" agreement with the IAEA.
The Foreign Minister detailed that the agreement addresses some of the "alleged" concerns regarding Iran's peaceful nuclear program and helps to strengthen cooperation with the Agency.
Iranian media reported that the agreement included permitting the agency to replace the CCTV cameras in the TESA Karaj complex after the main part of the judicial-security investigation on the damaged cameras in the complex was concluded.
In a statement, the IAEA said the agreement "will enable us to resume necessary continuity of knowledge at this facility," and that the new cameras would be installed "in coming days."
The agency said the new cameras will be replacing those removed from the complex earlier this year after an Israeli sabotage operation damaged them. The IAEA and Iran will continue working on the remaining safeguard issues to solve them, the agency added.
The Iranian foreign ministry announced earlier that the talks between the chair of the AEOI and the director-general of the IAEA were "making progress."
