Resistance sources to Al Mayadeen: IOF advance in Gaza City halted
Israeli occupation forces have failed for the third consecutive day to advance into the depths of al-Zaytoun neighborhood in the southern part of Gaza City, according to sources in the Palestinian Resistance who spoke to Al Mayadeen on Thursday.
The sources further mentioned that the occupation forces brought in significant reinforcements to the southern entrance of al-Zaytoun neighborhood, especially noting that the IOF have been attempting to advance toward the heart of the neighborhood since Tuesday morning.
The source mentioned that the IOF are employing more than 70 military vehicles in their attack on the neighborhood, including tanks, armored vehicles, and bulldozers. Additionally, an armored infantry battalion with approximately 500 IOF soldiers is involved in the failed advance.
Additionally, the Resistance is efficiently utilizing sniper rifles, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and anti-armor weaponry, the source stated.
He underscored that numerous civilians insist on staying in their residences, rejecting "evacuation" directives, even amid the intense airstrikes during the night and the forceful artillery bombardment.
The source also noted that the Israeli military is hindering ambulance teams from evacuating both the martyrs and the wounded, whether they are inside their houses or on the streets.
It is worth noting that the Palestinian Resistance in the Gaza Strip continues to engage in violent confrontations against the occupation forces, especially in Khan Younis and al-Zaytoun neighborhood, and Israeli losses are projected to increase nearly five months into the aggression.
