IRGC Commander Major General Mohammad Pakpour inspected naval units situated at Gulf bases, assessing their combat preparedness as high during his visit to the operational units stationed on the islands.
Addressing the naval units, the IRGC commander stated, "Just as the armed forces brought the Zionist regime and the United States to their knees in the 12-day imposed war, if any movement is made by the enemies in the sea and islands, the IRGC Navy will respond with all might."
He also credited the forces' high morale and profound faith as a key strength that intimidates "Israel" and the US. General Pakpour additionally oversaw the sailing of a United States ship in the Gulf during his tour.
This comes amid rising tensions in the region, as the United States ups its military build-up in countries neighboring Iran.
General Nasirzadeh affirms Iran's preparedness in face of US
On October 2, Iran's Defense Minister Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh reaffirmed the country's full preparedness to defend its sovereignty against expanding US military activity in the region.
Nasirzadeh declared that "Iran is ready to defend its country regardless of the movements of US cargo aircraft toward the region," while also urging national institutions to remain steadfast against "the psychological war being waged by the enemy."
He stated that Washington's maneuvers, including tankers, surveillance flights, and carrier deployments, aim to disrupt public life and instill fear, but warned Iran will decisively respond to any destabilization, saying such actions "will not go unanswered."
Gulf Militarization Pact
Recent US military movements, including deploying KC-135 tankers, advanced fighters, and naval forces near the Gulf, are concentrated at Qatar's Al Udeid Air Base, following a new US-Qatar defense pact where Washington pledged to respond militarily to any attack on Qatari territory.
From Iran's perspective, this agreement transforms Qatar into a forward-operating platform for the US, extending its security perimeter into the heart of the Gulf. Iranian officials see this as a pretext for the US to expand its military presence under the guise of protecting allies, blurring the line between defense and aggression.
Analysts in Tehran argue the timing of the pact, after regional tensions involving "Israel", exposes a US intent to consolidate influence and contain Iran, viewing this as proof that US policy in the Gulf remains anchored in coercion and militarization rather than diplomacy.
