According to China's Special Envoy on the Middle East Issue Zhai Jun, the establishment of an independent Palestinian state is a solution to the Palestinian-Israeli issue.

The Chinese foreign ministry reported that during a phone call with the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Palestine, Zhai stated that "The way out of the vicious circle and the pacification of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict consists in returning to the Two States for Two Peoples plan, resuming peace talks, creating an independent Palestinian state and achieving peaceful coexistence between Palestine and Israel."

US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer was greeted at Beijing's Diaoyutai State Guesthouse alongside his delegation to meet with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Monday.

Schumer expressed being "very disappointed" with China's foreign ministry statement, which demonstrates a solidarity stance with Palestine amid Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.

"The foreign ministry's statement... showed no sympathy or support for Israel during these tough, troubled times," Schumer said after China urged for "calm" and "cease fire immediately".

Tragedy for the US, a victory for Palestine

During an interview with CNN, US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, said that this is the worst attack on "Israel" since the 1973 war, referring to Operation Al-Aqsa Flood launched by Palestinian resistance on Saturday morning.

Blinken said in his statement to CNN, "Washington's focus now is on helping Israel ensure it has what it needs to deal with this situation."

"We are considering specific additional requests made by the Israelis, and they are likely to be announced today."

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, in turn, said he directed the aircraft carrier Gerald Ford to the eastern Mediterranean: noting that the United States government will provide the Israeli military with additional equipment and resources, including ammunition.
