An Israeli special unit carried out an assassination attempt on Monday in the town of Tamoun, near Tubas in the northern West Bank.
According to local sources, occupation soldiers opened fire on a civilian car during the raid, injuring a Palestinian intelligence officer along with his wife and children.
The incident came hours after a series of raids by Israeli occupation forces across several areas of the West Bank. Three Palestinian youths were reported injured during the attacks, which also included widespread arrests and house raids.
Moreover, the Palestinian Red Crescent confirmed that a 20-year-old Palestinian was shot in the head with live ammunition on Faisal Street in Nablus. He was transferred to Rafidia Government Hospital, where his condition was declared serious.

UN sounds alarm
The United Nations expressed deep concern on Tuesday over the latest Israeli military raids in the occupied West Bank, which left several Palestinians injured.
UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said during a press briefing that the organization was monitoring reports from Ramallah and stressed alarm over the manner in which the operations were carried out. “We are just seeing these reports. We are concerned about these operations and the way they were conducted in the West Bank,” he told reporters.
Dujarric also reiterated UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’ call on both the Israeli occupation and Hamas leadership to agree on a ceasefire to prevent further escalation.
Israeli cabinet debates West Bank annexation plans with US approval
The Israeli Security Cabinet convened on Sunday evening to discuss the possibility of annexing parts of the occupied West Bank. The move comes as France and other countries prepare to recognize a Palestinian state during the upcoming UN General Assembly in New York.
The Jerusalem Post (JP) reported on Monday that Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, a leading figure of the far-right bloc, is pressing for a significant and not merely symbolic annexation. He has repeatedly raised the issue with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, framing "sovereignty" as a direct response to France’s diplomatic initiative.
In an exclusive report, several Israeli officials told The Jerusalem Post that so-called "sovereignty over certain areas" is under serious consideration, though Netanyahu has yet to make a final decision.
On the US stance regarding the Israeli regime's annexation plans, the report highlights continued ambiguity. In August, US House Speaker Mike Johnson openly endorsed settler narratives during a trip organized by illegal settler groups in the occupied West Bank, declaring, "Judea and Samaria are part of Israel. We are working to eliminate the use of the term ‘West Bank’ in the administration, in Congress, and in the federal government."
