IOF given orders not to retaliate to Hezbollah recent op: Lieberman
Unless Hezbollah is expelled beyond the Litani River, Israeli settlers will not feel safe returning to the settlements in the north, Lieberman said.
Leader of the opposition party "Yisrael Beiteinu", Avigdor Lieberman, stated today that Israeli occupation soldiers at the Lebanese border "received orders not to respond to Hezbollah fire."
In a post on X, Lieberman explained that "while one of the outposts in the North was hit by six anti-tank missiles and miraculously dozens of soldiers were not injured, an explicit order was given to our soldiers that they are not allowed to respond to Hezbollah fire."
"It is not possible for our soldiers to feel like ducks on a shooting range at the northern border when the government's policy is that it is forbidden to initiate, it is forbidden to shoot, it is forbidden to react, except only in case a terrorist already crosses the border," He added.
Lieberman added that unless Hezbollah is expelled beyond the Litani River, Israeli settlers will not feel safe returning to the settlements in the North.
"We must transition from a policy of accommodation to a policy of decisiveness, as what happened in the South is not allowed to be repeated in the North," Lieberman said alluding to a preemptive measure.

Direct confrontations between Resistance, Israelis in South Lebanon
In a rare escalation, heavy confrontations erupted on Thursday evening between Islamic Resistance fighters from Lebanon and Israeli occupation forces stationed in the "Misgav Am" military base, Al Mayadeen's correspondent in southern Lebanon reported.
The confrontations, which lasted for over 30 minutes, come as operations against Israeli bases in northern occupied Palestine in support of Gaza expand in both nature and volume.
Commenting on the events, Israeli media said Hezbollah's operations today are more intense than the past few days, noting that as per the latest estimates, the Islamic Resistance launched a total of eight ATGMs today, in addition to heavy use of machineguns in the operations.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah announced in a statement that, as part of the continued support to Palestinians, the Resistance in Lebanon attacked several Israeli targets in northern occupied Palestine.
The Resistance announced carrying out two operations in separate statements. In the first operation, the Resistance fighters targeted two Merkava tanks in the "Metulla" Israeli base using guided missiles, confirming that the tanks' crews were either killed or wounded in the process. In the other, an Israeli infantry force in the occupied Lebanese town of Tarbikha came under attack, with confirmed direct hits.
On that note, the Israeli bombing of the outskirts of the towns of Kfar Kila and Deir Mimas stopped following Hezbollah's targeting of "Metulla".
