IOF injures Palestinians in anti-settlement rallies in West Bank
Several Palestinians were injured by IOF fire, and dozens more were injured by tear gas fired on them by Israeli Occupation Forces.
Several Palestinians were injured by live Israeli fire, and dozens more were injured by tear gas as Israeli military forces brutally dispersed anti-settlement protests in the northern portion of the occupied West Bank.
According to Ghassan Daghlas, who monitors Israeli settlement activities in the northern West Bank, extremist Jewish settlers barged their way into Qaryout village, located 28 kilometers (17 miles) southeast of Nablus, on Friday, sparking clashes with local residents.
Israeli forces then opened fire on the protesting villagers, wounding many of them with rubber-coated steel bullets and tear gas. Hundreds of people were affected by tear gas amid skirmishes with Israeli forces and settlers.
Similar confrontations occurred as Israeli troops repressed anti-settlement demonstrations in Beita town and Beit Dajan hamlet, south and east of Nablus.
According to the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS), two Palestinian civilians were injured in Beita and twelve more were injured in Beit Dajan.
In a similar occurrence, a number of Palestinians were injured as Israeli forces opened fire on protestors in Kafr Qaddum town with rubber-coated metal bullets and tear gas bombs.
Since July 2011, Kafr Qaddum has seen weekly marches by residents seeking the reopening of the town's main entrance, which has been closed for many years.
With the full support of former US President Donald Trump, "Israel" has increased its illegal settlement construction in defiance of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334, which declared settlements in the West Bank and East al-Quds "a flagrant violation under international law."
