Israeli occupation forces killed on Wednesday Palestinian youth and freed prisoner Mojahed Al-Najjar from the town of Silwad after chasing him for allegedly carrying out shooting operations in the "Ofra" illegal settlement, northeast of Ramallah.

Israeli occupation forces claimed in a statement that Al-Najjar, 32, opened fire from a passing vehicle at a military post near the settlement of "Ofra" and was shot dead in the village of Deir Dibwan following a manhunt.

The Palestinian Prisoner Society pointed out that the martyr spent more than nine years in Israeli occupation prisons. He was held in administrative detention for 21 months, during which he carried a hunger strike for 42 days in protest of his illegal detention.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the Israeli occupation killed 160 Palestinians in the West Bank since the start of 2022.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society said its teams dealt with two injuries sustained by shrapnel from the occupation bullets in Nablus.

The Nablus Brigade also said its fighters opened fire at the occupation vehicles that stormed Al-Yasmina neighborhood.

15 acts of resistance in the past 24 hours

It is noteworthy that the occupied West Bank witnessed 15 acts of resistance, including armed attacks, throwing Molotov cocktails, confronting settlers, and destroying vehicles, during the past 24 hours.

Palestinians confronted Israeli settlers' attacks, and one of the settlers' vehicles was destroyed in the town of Hawara, south of Nablus.

Additionally, Resistance fighters targeted the "Karmi Tzur" illegal settlement in Al-Khalil and shots were fired during confrontations with the occupation forces that stormed the town of Beit Ummar, north of the city.

This comes at a time when the Lions' Den Resistance group announced on Tuesday that it raised the state of alert and readiness among its fighters in Nablus, Ramallah, Al-Khalil, and Jenin.

The group announced that its fighters carried out five shooting operations last Friday, targeting the Beit Furik and Hawara checkpoints, in addition to targeting gatherings of the occupation soldiers at the "Gerzim" checkpoint in the occupied city of Nablus.
