Israeli occupation forces (IOF) carried out a series of raids across multiple towns in the occupied West Bank on Saturday, injuring at least one Palestinian youth and detaining a child, according to local sources.
After storming the town of Qaryut, southeast of Nablus, the IOF imposed a curfew and opened fire on civilians.
Further south, confrontations erupted in the town of Beit Fajjar, near Beit Lahm, where a young Palestinian man was shot and wounded by Israeli occupation soldiers. Local sources later confirmed an additional injury during the ongoing clashes in the same area.
Simultaneously, Israeli forces raided the town of Beit Iba, west of Nablus, via the Deir Sharaf checkpoint. Raids were also reported in Sa’ir, northeast of al-Khalil, and Beit Awwa, west of Dura in southern al-Khalil.
In a separate incident, local sources reported that Israeli forces arrested a Palestinian child in the al-Masaaken al-Shaabiyya area east of Nablus. Witnesses confirmed the child was physically abused during the arrest.
Meanwhile, Israeli troops stormed the New Askar hill area east of Nablus, where they set up a military checkpoint, stopped vehicles, and conducted extensive searches.
The raids are part of an intensifying pattern of Israeli aggression across the occupied West Bank, particularly after the IOF announced on Wednesday the expansion of their "military operation" in Nablus, which included a raid on the Balata refugee camp east of the city, forcing several families to flee their homes.
IOF assault triggers worst displacement in West Bank
The latest Israeli military operations have triggered the largest wave of displacement in the occupied West Bank since the 1967 Six-Day War, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) highlighted on April 5.
UNRWA said the widespread and ongoing Israeli assaults—beginning on January 21 in Jenin camp and other northern areas—constitute the longest continuous military campaign in the West Bank since the Second Intifada (uprising) in the early 2000s.
The agency described the situation in the northern West Bank as “extremely concerning", citing continued Israeli raids and mass detention campaigns. According to UNRWA, these operations have resulted in systematic destruction, forced displacement, and demolition orders targeting Palestinian families and refugee camps.
According to the United Nations, the Israeli operation has forcibly displaced over 40,000 people from refugee camps and surrounding communities in Jenin and Tulkarm.
