IOF open fire on Palestinians protesting near Gaza Separation Wall
The Israeli occupation forces open fire on Palestinians protesting in solidarity with Al-Aqsa Mosque amid repeated Israeli violations.
Several Palestinians crossed the Separation Wall in the Gaza Strip and set fire to an Israeli sniper tower, Israeli media reported on Tuesday.
"Ten days after protests at the Gaza border, Israel will remain on high alert during the holiday period with numerous intelligence warnings of potential Palestinian attacks," Israeli media outlets have warned.
"There is a lot of information and more than 200 intelligence alerts regarding Palestinian operations," Israeli Channel 13 military correspondent Or Heller said. "It appears that these alerts will accompany us throughout the holiday season."
"Israeli forces fired live ammunition and tear gas at gatherings of Palestinian youths demonstrating in support of Al-Aqsa Mosque near the Gaza border," an Al Mayadeen correspondent reported.
Hundreds of Palestinian youths have been demonstrating for nearly two weeks near the separation fence between Gaza and the occupied territories of 1948.
Angry youths also set fire to rubber tires near the separation wall while Israeli occupation vehicles and snipers were deployed nearby.
According to eyewitnesses, "incendiary balloons were launched from Gaza towards settlements in the vicinity."
Similar events took place on Monday, with the Israeli occupation forces opening fire on and using tear gas against the protesters at the Separation Wall east of the Gaza Strip.
This happened as protesters gathered at the eastern borders of Gaza as part of popular demonstrations in support of the Al-Aqsa Mosque amid repeated Israeli violations and raids on the holy site.
"The security and military establishments recognize that we are heading towards escalation in the Gaza Strip, which is why another battalion was reinforced in the Gaza Brigade on the eve of the [Yom Kippur] holiday," Israeli Kan public broadcaster military affairs correspondent Itay Blumenthal said.
The Israeli reporter highlighted that the occupation forces are prepared for all possibilities of escalation, including shelling.
Protesting for Al-Aqsa
Dozens of Palestinians are protesting for the 12th day in a row in response to the call of the Revolutionary Youth, who have begun gathering in the eastern Gaza Strip, preparing to set fire to rubber tires in defiance of the occupation, in support of Al-Aqsa and to condemn settlers' incursions into its courtyards, and in support of the prisoners.
Local Palestinian media reported that three young men were injured in the leg area in the Malka refugee camp area, noting that the occupation forces fired tear gas canisters at the young demonstrators, some of whom suffocated.
