  • IOF is planning to carry out assassinations in Gazza: sources
    Palestinian Resistance factions

Private sources told Al Mayadeen on Sunday that Palestinian Resistance factions expect the IOF to carry out targeted assassinations in Gaza.

The sources said that "certain Resistance factions expect the attacks will target specific individuals whom the IOF believe are financing operations in the West Bank," adding that "the targeted individuals are likely to be former prisoners of the West Bank who now reside in Gaza since they were released under Wafaa Al-Ahrar (Loyalty of the Free) swap deal."

The sources stressed that "the Resistance factions have taken precautionary measures to protect key figures whom they fear might be targeted," noting that "the threats come in light of an excessive active movement of Israeli reconnaissance aircraft hovering over specific areas in the Gaza Strip."

The sources' information came just hours after a Palestinian operation in Al-Khalil, which resulted in the death of one Israeli settler and several injured.

Anger has prevailed in the cities of the West Bank for days, amid calls for public mobilization, after the rise of martyrs in the storming of Nablus by Israeli occupation forces, which led to strike and mass mourning.

On October 25, the director of Al Mayadeen office in occupied Palestine said Nablus has turned into a real war zone and the Israeli occupation forces used air missiles in the attack, adding that Palestinian security forces and resistance fighters engaged in an armed confrontation with the occupation forces. The Director confirmed that the occupation forces withdrew from the city of Nablus, amid doubts that this could be a tactic to re-storm the area.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that same day that the number of martyrs shot dead by Israeli occupation forces during their storming of the city of Nablus rose to 6, with 21 injuries reported.

On October 26, the IOF stormed several neighborhoods of the city of Nablus and the village of Iraq Burin in the south.

The occupation forces raided a house in Khalet Al-Amoud area and arrested Iyad Al-Nabulsi, the brother of martyr Ibrahim Al-Nabulsi.
