Israeli occupation forces have conducted an operation inside Syria, crossing into the Quneitra countryside and making several arrests near the border with the Golan Heights.
According to Syrian sources, Israeli forces established a military checkpoint between the villages of al-Samadaniyah al-Sharqiyah and al-Ajraf in the Quneitra countryside.
The same sources confirmed that the number of arrests made by the Israeli army has now risen to five, following the detention of individuals in an area west of Sayda al-Hanout village in southern Quneitra, near the Yarmouk Valley border with the Golan.
According to local Syrian sources and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an Israeli military patrol of six vehicles advanced into the village of Mualaqa in the Quneitra countryside two days ago, where they established a temporary checkpoint and proceeded to search a number of houses.
In a separate incident, a young man was injured by Israeli gunfire while collecting firewood in the Jbata al-Khashab forest, according to Syrian news reports.
Israeli aggression on Syria ongoing
This comes as part of continuous Israeli violations of Syria's sovereignty and Syrians' safety, with similar incidents taking place repeatedly.
Syrian media reported that Israeli forces raided the village of Jumla in western Daraa on the morning of October 4, detaining four young men. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Israeli special forces infiltrated the village, moved through its streets, and detained the young men before establishing a temporary checkpoint at its entrance, all under intensive surveillance from reconnaissance drones.
Last month, an Israeli occupation force patrol consisting of three vehicles infiltrated the perimeter of the village of Koya in the western countryside of Daraa.
The Israeli patrol reportedly set up a temporary checkpoint between the villages of Ma'ariya and Koya before it came under fire from an unknown origin, forcing it to withdraw toward the al-Jazeera barracks.
At the time, an Israeli military force entered the village of Ma'ariya in the Yarmouk Basin, setting up a temporary checkpoint on its eastern side to stop and search pedestrians. In contrast, a separate force moved toward the villages of Koya and Abdeen.
