The Israeli occupation launched a series of violent raids north of Nuseirat Camp on Friday in the central Gaza Strip.

Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported that occupation aircraft opened fire on the northern areas of the camp, confirming casualties and injuries resulting from an Israeli aggression targeting a primary school in the new camp north of Nuseirat housing displaced Palestinians.

In the al-Daraj neighborhood of the central Gaza Strip, our correspondent reported that at least 25 Palestinians were murdered in the bombing of a house belonging to the Tabatibi family in the Sidra area.

At least 63 Palestinians were killed while another 45 injured individuals were transferred to hospitals around the Gaza Strip from Wednesday afternoon to Thursday afternoon, the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced.

In its latest report, the ministry said that the number of victims of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip reached 33,634 martyrs and 76,214 injured since October 7, 2023.

Earlier on Thursday, members of the UN Security Council failed to reach a consensus on a bid by Palestine for full UN membership.

Palestine, which has had observer status at the world body since 2012, has lobbied for years to gain full membership, which would amount to recognition of Palestinian statehood. Any request to become a UN member state must first pass through the Security Council, where "Israel's" ally the United States wields a veto, and then be endorsed by the General Assembly.

Amid the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, Palestine revived a 2011 UN membership application last week, prompting the Security Council to launch a formal review process, which included the committee that failed to reach consensus composed of the council's member states.
