Brigadier General Ali Fazli, deputy coordinator of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), confirmed on Thursday that Iran has been preparing for any potential confrontation with the enemy for years.
In a remarkable statement, Fazli noted that the "Sejjil" missile took "Israel" by surprise during the war, revealing that Iranian missile capabilities used did not exceed 25% of the actual capacity.
Fadli also said, "We are in our best position today in 45 years, and we have not yet opened the door to any of the missile cities."
He also stressed that the Iranian armed forces' decisions are based on long-term planning, not immediate reactions, emphasizing that the Israeli occupation focused its attacks on security centers on the last day of the war.
Regarding nuclear weapons, Fazli noted that Iran possesses the technical knowledge in this field, but, based on its ideological principles, it does not seek to possess or use this type of weapon.
In this context, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi confirmed on Thursday that the Islamic Republic will continue enriching uranium in line with its national needs, signaling that Tehran remains firm in its nuclear program despite the US-Israeli strikes that targeted its nuclear sites.
“Iran is not planning further responses to the United States following the attacks on its nuclear program, unless Washington takes further aggressive action,” Takht-Ravanchi stated.
He emphasized that Iran remains open to dialogue but conditioned future negotiations on credible US guarantees. “The United States must convince us that it will not resort to military force during negotiations. This is a fundamental prerequisite for our leadership to decide on the next round of talks,” he added.
