Iran army chief warns enemies of committing any "stupidity"
The commander of Iran's ground forces cautions aggressors of any "stupid move", stressing it will be dealt with seriously.
Brigadier General Kiomars Heidari, the commander of the Iranian Army's Ground Forces, said that Iran is the safest country in the region and that Tehran pursues efforts to maintain regional security.
Commenting on the deployment of the Army's Ground Forces to border areas, he said this doesn't reflect an impending threat but is meant to boost military preparedness and enhance intelligence control at the borders.
“Today, the Islamic Republic of Iran enjoys unparalleled security, and any aggressor intending to attack the country will get comeuppance for its stupidity,” he warned.
Back in February, Heidari announced the formation of a missile unit in the Ground Force, revealing intentions to overhaul the Ground Force's equipment and introduce new equipment that is more suited to rapid-response missions.
The Army Ground Force has concentrated its efforts on developing automated and smart munitions capable of hitting targets at long ranges with pinpoint accuracy, according to the commander.
In recent years, Iranian military technicians have made significant progress in developing a wide range of indigenous weaponry, allowing the country's armed forces to become arms self-sufficient.
