Iran-China agreements to come into effect in two months
The 20 new bilateral cooperation agreements and the memorandum of understanding that were signed during the Iranian President's visit to China, will come in force in 2 months.
The Iran-China agreements reached during President Ebrahim Raisi's recent visit to Beijing will come into effect within the coming two months, the head of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI), Alireza Peyman-Pak, said.
Raisi's visit to China had been planned several months ago with the purpose of developing trade and economic relations with China, the TPOI head said, adding it is one of the important priorities of the 13th Iranian government.
"During the trip, agreements, MoUs and contracts were concluded between the two sides for the development of various relations in tourism, mining, railway, commercial, machinery, industrial and mining equipment fields," Peyman-Pak added.

Since China is one of the largest consumers of mineral products in the world, he said, "the issue of participation in the development of mines was also discussed."
"The president's recent visit to China was in the spotlight by the Westerners, so it was emphasized between the two countries to keep these agreements confidential until the processes enter the operational phase."
"With the operationalization of the processes, people will see the positive effects of these agreements within the next three to four months, and after that, we can publicize these issues," the TPOI head added.
It is worth noting that the 25-year comprehensive strategic partnership agreement was penned last March in the face of Western-imposed unilateral sanctions against both Iran and China, which linemates bilateral cooperation in political, economic, cultural, and security fields to last for the next 25 years.
Last week, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi visited Beijing, where he met his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, and signed 20 new bilateral cooperation agreements as well as a memorandum of understanding.
The Sino-Iranian meeting sought to discuss the implementation of a comprehensive strategic partnership between Tehran and Beijing. The bilateral cooperation agreements covered, according to Tasnim news agency, fields namely economy, information technology, crisis management, tourism, fields, environment, international trade, intellectual property, agriculture, exports, health and medical sector, media activities, as well as sports and cultural heritage.
Jinping and Raisi, in a joint statement, held that they stand against foreign interference in the domestic affairs of sovereign states. In that regard, the two leaders vowed mutual efforts to protect the territorial integrity of both countries, China and Iran.
