Iran eyes boosting defense product exports by 50%: MoD spox
Brigadier General Reza Talaei-Nik affirms that Iran has successfully fulfilled all its defense requirements and is now focusing on expanding its export market.
Iran plans to boost its defense product exports by 50 percent, the spokesperson for the Iranian Defense Ministry, Brigadier General Reza Talaei-Nik, revealed on Saturday.
Talaei-Nik highlighted that the Ministry has made significant progress in increasing the production of defense equipment to meet the needs of the Iranian Armed Forces, Iran's Press TV reported.
The Brigadier General affirmed that Iran has successfully fulfilled all its defense requirements and is now focusing on expanding its export market to respond to numerous requests for the purchase of its defense products.
He also praised the Iranian Defense Ministry's substantial achievements in research, expertise, and modern technologies.
"The Armed Forces have pursued and will pursue the principle of technological surprise against the enemy and at the same time prevent any kind of surprise in the offensive and defensive fields," Talaei-Nik indicated.
Despite years-long Western sanctions imposed on the country, Iranian military experts and technicians have made significant advancements in producing a wide range of homegrown equipment, achieving self-sufficiency for the Iranian Armed Forces.
Iranian officials have consistently affirmed that the country will not hesitate to enhance its military capabilities, which are entirely intended for defense purposes.
Talaei-Nik noted that Iran ranks among the top 10 countries globally in terms of defense industry technology.
In mid-May, the Commander-in-Chief of the IRGC Major General Hossein Salami underlined that Iran's power has grown enormously, to the extent that it "fearlessly" attacks the heart of global arrogance.
