Iran FM denies Bloomberg report on 'reducing tensions with Israel'
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian called for the immediate cessation of Israeli attacks, which he said violate both humanitarian and international laws.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Monday denied quotes attributed to President Masoud Pezeshkian by Western news outlets, which alleged that the president suggested Iran is ready to reduce tensions with "Israel."
This denial follows a Bloomberg report claiming that the Iranian president made such statements.
Araghchi clarified that "the president has strongly condemned the crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza and the invasion of Lebanon by that regime," adding that any reports suggesting otherwise are false. He further criticized Bloomberg's report, calling it "media mischief."

Araghchi reiterated that during the meeting with Western reporters, President Pezeshkian condemned "Israel's" actions, stating, "These crimes, including the assassination of Martyr Haniyeh in Tehran, will not go unanswered, and this answer will be implemented in due time."
The foreign minister added that the president had called for the immediate cessation of Israeli attacks, which he said violate both humanitarian and international laws.
In his statement, Araghchi also affirmed Iran's commitment to defending Lebanon against Israeli aggression, stating that Tehran "will certainly not be indifferent to the Zionist regime's recent aggression against Lebanon and will defend and support Lebanon."
The Iranian government has consistently condemned Israeli actions in Gaza and Lebanon, while affirming its solidarity with regional resistance movements.
Araghchi's remarks make clear that Iran remains resolute in its stance against "Israel," dismissing any claims of potential diplomatic softening.
