Iran FM: British FM remarks on Vienna talks irresponsible
Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson comments on recent statements made by the British Foreign Secretary regarding the Vienna talks.
The spokesperson of Iran’s Foreign Ministry, Saeed Khatibzadeh, described the statements made on Tuesday by the British Foreign Secretary on the Vienna talks as irresponsible and unfounded.
Khatibzadeh said on Wednesday that statements are another card used in the hollow blame game of Britain and some other Western countries in order to hide years of their inaction and support of the illegal and inhumane unilateral US sanctions on Iran.
Rather than resorting to hollow threats, the UK must end its inaction, fulfil its undertakings and act responsibly in the delicate process of salvaging the JCPOA.

The deal still has a chance of survival, thanks to Iran's responsible conduct. UK should follow suit.
Liz Truss, the British Foreign Secretary, had said on Tuesday that Iran will be responsible for a possible impasse in the Vienna talks, and if that happens, all options will be on the table.
The Iranian spokesperson said that the UK’s empty threats will not reduce its moral responsibility for the violation of the JCPOA, nor will they weaken Iran’s resolve to reach a lasting and reliable deal that would achieve the interests of the Iranian people.
It was only Iran’s “strategic patience” that paved the way for talks at this stage, Khatibzadeh said, and this window will not remain open forever. He also added that the other sides of the talks should do all in their power to not let this opportunity pass instead of engaging in the same blame game.
