Iran is facing open aggression from the Israeli occupation, which necessitates action from all United Nations member states and the UN Security Council, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated during a joint phone call with European officials.
Speaking with the foreign ministers of Britain, France, and Germany—the European troika—as well as EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Kaja Kallas, Araghchi said the Israeli regime was targeting Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities, economic infrastructure, military sites, and residential areas.
He described the attacks as “an unprecedented blow to diplomacy” and urged the European countries to “face the reality as it is” by clearly condemning Israeli aggression against Iran.

Iran affirms right to respond with full force
The Iranian top diplomat reaffirmed that the Islamic Republic has never walked away from negotiations but underlined that the current phase is focused on delivering a “painful and effective” response to deter further attacks.
Araghchi emphasized that Iran’s legitimate defense against ongoing aggression will continue with full force and held the Israeli occupation and its allies responsible for any escalation in the conflict.
He further asserted that "Israel" initiated this war against the Iranian people with “the direct support and complicity of the United States,” declaring Washington fully accountable for the current escalation and “complicit in the crimes being committed.”
European troika voices regret, urges return to diplomacy
According to statements from the European side, the foreign ministers of Britain, France, and Germany, along with Kaja Kallas, expressed deep regret over the situation and emphasized the need for diplomacy to de-escalate tensions in the region.
They affirmed their readiness to play an active role in facilitating dialogue and avoiding further confrontation.
