Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi condemned Israeli attacks on Gaza and Lebanon on Monday, describing them as a "blatant violation of ceasefire agreements."
He called on the international community, particularly Islamic and regional countries, to take urgent action to stop the crimes of the Israeli occupation.
In a phone call with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, Araghchi reaffirmed Iran’s firm stance against Israeli aggression and denounced US airstrikes on Yemen, which he said coincided with escalating Israeli crimes in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon.
He emphasized the importance of strengthening regional cooperation and coordination to prevent further attacks against Islamic nations.
Regarding internal developments in Turkiye, Araghchi stated that they were a domestic matter, expressing confidence in the Turkish authorities’ ability to manage the situation in a way that serves the interests of the Turkish people.
Rejections of US allegations on Iranian oil sector
In a separate call with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein, Araghchi dismissed US allegations against Iran’s oil sector, saying they were intended to pressure the Islamic Republic and lacked any legal or ethical basis.
He also condemned the ongoing Israeli attacks on Gaza and Lebanon, calling them a "clear violation of ceasefire agreements" and accusing the US of giving the Israeli occupation a "green light" to continue its actions.
Araghchi urged decisive measures by regional countries to protect their sovereignty and prevent foreign forces from using their territories to destabilize neighboring states.
US bolstering Israeli regime
Araghchi warned friendly and neighboring countries to remain vigilant against Washington’s attempts to sow discord, stressing that such efforts only serve Zionist agendas by undermining regional relations.
In a call with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Sunday, he expressed deep concern over the Israeli regime's continued violations of the ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon, condemning its large-scale attacks on civilians.
Tehran, through its permanent representative to the United Nations, argued on Saturday that "the direct role of the United States in facilitating the crimes of the Israeli entity is proven and well-documented," highlighting that "Washington's unwavering political, military, and financial support has enabled this entity to continue its atrocities with complete impunity." Therefore, it asserted that these accusations against Iran were merely a desperate attempt to distract the Security Council from its duties, obscure the truth, and uphold "Israel’s" impunity.
Furthermore, Tehran stated that these allegations reflect "the United States' ongoing hostile policy against Iran" and serve as further proof that the US delegation to the United Nations, acting under direct orders from Washington, "continues to ignore the facts on the ground and uses every opportunity to repeat its baseless allegations against Iran."
Additionally, Tehran asserted that "the United States has turned the Security Council into a tool to implement its political agenda, falsely portraying Iran as a threat to international peace and security."
