Iran hails Hezbollah operation, says Iranian response 'definite'
The Iranian foreign minister reaffirms that Iran's response to Haniyeh's assassination will be "definite and calculated."
Iran's response to the Israeli assassination of martyred Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh during his visit to Tehran will be "definite and calculated," Foreign Minister Abbas Araghshi asserted.
In a phone call with his Italian counterpart, Antonio Tajani, Araghshi said Iran does not seek escalation, but "is not afraid of it," noting that the assassination of Martyr Haniyeh and the "unforgivable" breach of Tehran's sovereignty and national security necessitates a "definite, calculated, and accurate" response.
Moreover, Araghsi is scheduled to meet with his Qatari counterpart, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani in Tehran, to discuss regional issues. Al Thani will also meet with newly-elected Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
The Qatari foreign minister landed in Tehran on August 26.

Within the framework of anticipated responses to the Israeli crimes, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani hailed Hezbollah's retaliation to the assassination of its senior military leader, Martyr Fouad Shokor.
Kanaani affirmed that Operation Arbaeen dealt "Israel" a heavy blow, as the former rushed to hide in losses, in vain. Despite the United States' assistance, the occupation could not predict the timing or place of Hezbollah's retaliation.
As a result, the regional strategic balance shifted against the occupation, which now has to defend itself, including against attacks deep within occupied territories, while "fear for the present and the future has filled the homes of the residents of the occupied territories."
The primary targets of the Resistance's operation on Monday were the central Glilot base of Israeli military intelligence Aman, incorporating the central hub of Unit 8200, located near Tel Aviv, and the Ein Shemer airbase, confirmed Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
