Iranian officials vowed on Thursday an inevitable and powerful response to the Israeli aggression on the country last week, which targeted several Iranian military sites and killed four Iranian soldiers.

The commander of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps, Major General Hossein Salami, threatened "Israel" with a response that "will surpass all expectations," asserting that the Israelis have repeated their mistake.

"Israel" believes it can change the balance of power in the region by launching a few missiles, Salami said during a speech at the Martyrs of Fars Province Conference.

"You have once again proven that you do not understand the Iranian people, and your calculations are completely wrong," the IRGC commander stressed, addressing the Israeli occupation regime.

He reminded "Israel" of the failure of its air defense systems during Iran's Operation True Promise II, adding, "You rely on a few missiles and fighter jets, yet they will not prevent your downfall."

"You will inevitably fall," Salami underlined.

On his part, Mohammad Mohammadi Golpayegani, head of the Office of the Leader of the Revolution and the Islamic Republic, Sayyed Ali Khamenei, affirmed that "Israel" will receive a severe Iranian response to its recent aggression that will cause it to regret it.

Golpayegani affirmed that the performance of Iranian air defenses in countering the Israeli aggression "was effective", explaining that they prevented Israeli warplanes from breaching the country's airspace.

He also noted that the damages resulting from the aggression were minimal.

Last week, Israeli warplanes launched an aggression on Iran. The Israeli military command confirmed that its Air Force conducted strikes on "military targets" in the country, sparking widespread regional and international condemnations.

Iran warns of stronger retaliation against any future aggression

The Iranian Air Defense reported that in the early hours of October 26, "Israel" targeted military sites in the provinces of Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam, with air defenses intercepting the attacks.

It said that limited damage was reported, the full extent of which is under investigation.

The Iranian Armed Forces general staff said in a statement aired on state TV that the country's air defenses performed promptly, which caused the damage of "limited damage and few radar systems."

"A large number of missiles were intercepted and enemy aircraft were prevented from entering the country's airspace," the statement pointed out, emphasizing that Israeli planes were limited to launching a "small number of long-range missiles with very light warheads from a distance" within the US-patrolled airspace of Iraq.

The Armed Forces confirmed that four soldiers were martyred while intercepting the projectiles launched by the Israeli occupation military toward Iranian territory.

It underlined that the country will reserve its right to respond appropriately and is prioritizing the establishment of a "lasting ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon."

Iran response to 'Israel' inevitable: IRGC deputy chief

Earlier, IRGC Deputy Commander, Brigadier General Ali Fadavi, confirmed in a statement to Al Mayadeen that Iran's response to any Israeli aggression was "inevitable", emphasizing that "for over 40 years, we have never left any attack unanswered."

"We can target everything the Zionists possess in a single operation," Fadavi said, adding that the martyrdom of resistance leaders "strengthens rather than weakens the resistance."

He also noted that "Israel believed it had eradicated Hezbollah with the martyrdom of the Ummah's leader, Hassan Nasrallah, and other resistance leaders," however, "Hezbollah is now stronger than before."

According to Fadavi, Hezbollah's attacks on Israeli positions have intensified, both on the ground and in the air, which indicates that the Resistance is still as dynamic and strong as before.
