The Iranian Foreign Ministry has strongly criticized the G7 leaders for supporting the Israeli regime and blaming Iran for regional instability.

G7 leaders called Monday for a de-escalation in the escalating Israeli war on Iran, placing the burden largely on Iran while reiterating their support for what they blatantly called "Israel’s right to defend itself." The summit’s diplomatic posture raised questions over the group's bias, particularly after US President Donald Trump abruptly left the gathering a day early amid intensified Israeli strikes on Iran.

The G7 highlighted that the Israeli occupation "has a right to defend itself" and stressed "the importance of the protection of civilians," although "Israel" initiated the attacks unprovoked and targeted civilians and civilian infrastructure since day one, with the latest insolent attacks targeting Iran's state broadcaster and Al-Farabi Hospital.

Iran condemns G7

Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei, in a post on his X account on Tuesday, stated that the G7 has ignored "Israel's" blatant aggression against Iran, including attacks on peaceful nuclear infrastructure and the indiscriminate targeting of residential areas.

Baghaei emphasized that the G7’s failure to address the unlawful nature of the Israeli attacks undermines international norms. "Member States of G7, in particular the three permanent members of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), must shoulder their legal and moral responsibility towards an egregious act of aggression against a UN member," he said.

He stressed that "Israel's" war of aggression on Iran is a severe breach of the UN Charter and international law. "It is also an unprecedented attack on the tenets of non-proliferation regime and the legal protection it is supposed to grant to non-nuclear states against any such attacks," he added.

Iran urges UNSC to take immediate action

Baghaei stated that "Israel" had launched an unprovoked war of aggression against Iran and attacked Iran's nuclear sites in violation of Article 2(4) of the UN Charter. He highlighted the extensive damage caused, saying, "Hundreds of innocent people have been killed, our public and state facilities and people's homes are brutally demolished and hospitals & health centers are targeted."

According to Baghaei, the airstrikes have resulted in the martyrdom of top military commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians, including 45 women and children. He asked, "Iran is defending itself against a cruel aggression. Does Iran really have any other choice?"

He urged the UNSC and its members to act in accordance with their obligations and stop the aggressor from committing further atrocities. "The path to regional stability requires an immediate end to Israel’s aggression and accountability for its violations of international law. The G7 must abandon its one-sided rhetoric and address the real source of escalation: Israel's AGGRESSION," he stressed.
