Iran slams West’s anti-Iran propaganda as ‘threadbare tactic’
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman calls the US and some European media frenzy about Iran "a futile attempt in fomenting Iranophobia."
The Iranian Foreign Ministry's spokesperson has called the US and its three main European allies' attempts to launch a propaganda campaign against Iran as "futile," saying the anti-Iran propaganda is a "threadbare tactic" used to conceal their own domestic and international challenges.
During a meeting with the foreign ministers of France, Germany, and the United Kingdom on the eve of the 2023 Munich Security Conference (MSC) in the Bavarian capital, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken made unfounded claims about Iran's nuclear program and the status of its cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency.
"Creating external crises and playing a blame game is a threadbare tactic used by the West and the Zionist apartheid regime to cover up their internal crises amid recurrent waves of public protests and strikes, especially since they are also facing tough challenges in the international arena,” Kanaani tweeted.
He added that the US and some European media frenzy about Iran "is a futile attempt in fomenting Iranophobia to justify their illegal and anti-human rights actions against the Iranian people."

This year's Munich Security Conference, which began on Friday, was held without the participation of representatives from Russia and Iran.
According to the conference's official website, Iran has sent a senior official every year since at least 2009, with the exception of 2011–12 (when the nation was subject to US and EU sanctions) and 2021 (following the COVID-19 pandemic).
Khamenei reiterates support for Palestine
Yesterday, Iranian leader Sayyed Ali Khamenei underlined Iran's steadfast support for Palestine, denouncing Muslim states' silence in the face of Israeli aggression against Palestinians.
These remarks were made when Khamenei addressed a group of foreign representatives, ambassadors, and participants of an international Quran contest in Tehran on Saturday.
“If the Islamic governments had stood firm on the issue of Palestine from the first day and resisted, the situation in the West Asian region would certainly have been different and the Islamic Ummah would have been stronger and more united today,” he added.
"In revealing the truth, we are not afraid of anyone and we defend the Palestinian nation in any way we can, and this has caused the enemy to launch Iranophobia," he also highlighted.
