Iran summons British envoy over attack on Embassy in London
UK's Ambassador is summoned to Iran's Foreign Ministry for the fourth time.
The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the British Ambassador to Tehran on Sunday in response to a violent group's attack on the Iranian Embassy in London, which resulted in disrespect for the Iranian national flag.
The British Ambassador was reminded of the country's obligations under the Vienna Conventions of 1961 and 1963.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry also strongly condemned the UK's failure to prevent this heinous attack.
For his part, the British Ambassador expressed regret over the incident and promised to convey Iran's protest to his respective government.
This is the fourth summoning of the UK ambassador to Tehran in the last two months.

Earlier, in a statement, the Iranian Foreign Ministry announced sanctions against British entities "due to their intentional actions in supporting terrorism and terrorist groups, promoting and inciting terrorism, violence, and hatred, and violating human rights."
The sanctioned entities' measures have led to "riots, violence and terrorist acts" against the Iranian nation, according to the Ministry, which also reminded the British government of its international commitments to confront terrorism, hatred, and human rights abuse.
London, instead of sticking to its claimed commitments, rather facilitated the entities' measures, amounting to a gross violation of the UK's commitments.
The statement pointed to 3 entities and 9 individuals, now blacklisted in Iran. The entities in question are the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), as well as Volant Media, Global Media, and DMA Media and anti-Iranian TV channels that they support namely, BBC Persian and Iran International.
Earlier this year, Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the UK Ambassador on September 25 to protest London's hosting of anti-Iran media in Persian.
