Iran urges intl. community to stop Israeli genocide in Gaza
Iran's Foreign Minister warns that the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza could lead to the "most unprecedented disaster of the century."
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has stated that the Israeli occupation's ongoing genocidal war against Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip during the holy month of Ramadan raises concerns about what he described as the "most unprecedented disaster of the century."
He made the remarks in a letter addressed to United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, the head of the UN Security Council, the secretary general of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the foreign ministers of Islamic countries and other states.

'UNSC failed to end aggression'
Highlighting the prolonged Israeli war on Gaza, the top Iranian diplomat criticized the UN Security Council's failure to end the brutal aggression on the Palestinian territories. He called for "serious measures" to assist the people in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.
Amir-Abdollahian condemned the UNSC's inability to halt the war against the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, attributing it to the US' obstruction of the council's effective actions through frequent use of the "right of veto."
He asserted, “With the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, it is necessary for the international community to find practical ways and take serious measures to support the Palestinian people, immediately stop the military attacks against the Gaza Strip, and find a way out of the current dire situation.”
'Israeli policy of destruction in Gaza'
He further emphasized that the Israeli occupation deliberately pursued a policy of destruction in Gaza by imposing a total siege on the Palestinian territory. The occupation has enforced a complete siege on the territory, cutting off fuel, electricity, food, and water to the Palestinians living there.
He added, “The persistence of genocide in the Gaza Strip and Rafah and war crimes in the West Bank, in addition to the Israeli occupation's prevention of the delivery of aid and food to the Gaza Strip and the regime's use of starvation against the residents of Gaza with the aim of prolonging the genocide and the massacre of women and children, has sounded the alarm of the most unprecedented human tragedy of the century."
Amir-Abdollahian stressed that one of the dangerous goals implemented by the Israeli occupation is the blocking of humanitarian aid to prepare the ground for a social and civil collapse, destroying all signs of Palestinian life and identity, forcing a large number of residents out of the Strip and West Bank to neighboring countries.
He also reiterated Iran's strong condemnation of the Israeli crimes committed in Gaza and the West Bank, emphasizing that the international community and world bodies, particularly the United Nations, hold a responsibility to prevent such a crisis caused by the occupation.
