Iranian Agency: West attempting to pressure Iran
An Iranian agency reports that representatives of the European Troika are going to great lengths to change the course of the negotiations in Vienna.
According to Iran's Noor News agency, the west alongside the United States is striving to change the atmosphere towards escalating pressure on Iran.
The agency reported on Friday that representatives of the European Troika made great efforts to change the course of the negotiations in order to "score" concessions from China, Russia, Iran, and the European Union."
The behavior of the Troika, according to the agency, disrupted the mission of Josep Borrell and his deputy Enrique Mora.
In addition, the "clear and operational proposals" of the negotiating team from Iran, are of "great concern" to the US and countries in the P4+1. The parties are creating hurdles in consultation with Robert Malley, in order to change the course of the negotiations.
Adviser in Iran's negotiating team, Seyyed Mohammad Marandi, confirmed Friday that the Europeans have changed their position slightly on the two drafts which the Iranians previously submitted.
In an interview with Al Mayadeen, Marandi indicated that the change in the European position is a "good sign," revealing that for the Iranians the final paper must recognize Iran's full rights.
The seventh round of the Vienna negotiations resumed on December 2.
The United States withdrew from the nuclear agreement in 2018 and reinstated economic sanctions against Iran.
Iranians are proceeding in the talks seriously, stressing that sanctions removal is their fundamental priority.
