'Israel' faces significant loss from strategic perspective: Iran Amb.
Al Mayadeen's Vodcast interviews the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani, touching upon multiple topics related to the Axis of Resistance, Palestine, Iranian elections, and others.
In the latest episode of Al Mayadeen's Vodcast, the Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani, discussed Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, Iran's relationship with the Axis of Resistance, its ties with Arab countries, and the upcoming Iranian presidential elections.
On Operation Al-Aqsa Flood: Ambassador Amani emphasized that the operation against "Israel" on October 7, 2023, was a severe and deep blow to Tel Aviv.
Moreover, Amani underscored that this being said, Palestine remained one of the most important issues on the global level and continues to be Iran's foremost concern in the Islamic world.
On Iran's support for Palestine: Amani stated that the cause of Palestine has always been a primary focus in Iran's foreign policy and has now become the leading issue worldwide, highlighting global support for the oppressed people of Palestine.
The ambassador also emphasized that the recent events in Iran, including the martyrdom of President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, do not detract from Iran's commitment to major political issues, especially Palestine.
On the impact of the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation: He remarked that Operation Al-Aqsa Flood disrupted normalization plans and undermined projects aiming to give "Israel" a significant role in the region. The operation demonstrated that Hamas remains robust and active despite nine months of Israeli aggression through which "Israel" has failed to achieve its goals.
On the role of Resistance Forces: Amani also stressed that in addition to the steadfastness of the Palestinian Resistance in Gaza, other forces such as Hezbollah, and those from Yemen, Iraq, and Syria, as well as various political, judicial, and human rights movements worldwide, have joined the struggle. This indicates that "Israel's" loss in this battle is significant from a strategic perspective.
On Iran's relationship with Resistance Forces: Regarding Iran's relationship with the Resistance forces, he affirmed that it is "strong and solid and will remain so," pointing out that Operation True Promise, which Iran carried out, was of great importance. It provided strength, faith, and significant influence to the Resistance forces.
The ambassador also described Iran's relationship with Hezbollah as strategic, while emphasizing that "Iran does not dictate to anyone what to do, as each party within the Axis of Resistance enjoys independence in making their decisions. The best evidence of this is that in Iran, we were not aware of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood. The Palestinian Resistance acted based on their duties to resist the occupier and defend the land."
Amani further affirmed that "Iran supports any person or group that wants to defend their rights, and this right is enshrined in the Iranian constitution."
He then referred to late Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian, saying, "His legacy is one of Resistance; he was part of it and loved the Resistance's fighters until he became a martyr. He was even dubbed as the Foreign Minister of the Resistance."
On relations with arab countries: Regarding Iran's relations with Arab countries, Amani said, "Relations with Egypt are severed, instead there is an Interests Department or an Iranian mission in Egypt. However, the heads of the mission are always appointed at the ambassadorial level, and the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs refers to them as ambassadors, though this does not mean that the relations are at the ambassadorial level."
On the upcoming Iranian presidential elections: The ambassador also mentioned that the candidate lineup for the upcoming elections covers the diverse ideological and political spectrums in Iran, predicting high voter turnout and significant public interest compared to previous elections.
On relations with Lebanon: Amani emphasized ongoing communication with all political factions in Lebanon and considered that the condolences extended for the passing of President Raisi and his companions reflected Iran's esteemed position among the Lebanese people and officials from various Lebanese factions.
