Iranian FM and OIC condemn Al-Aqsa desecration, Charlie Hebdo
Iranian Foreign Minister and Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation jointly condemn the desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the sacrilegious Charlie Hebdo endeavor in a phone call.
In a phone call between Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hussein Ibrahim Taha, the two condemned the "Israeli regime's" recent desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli Police Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, and warned of future incursions into the holy site.
According to Press TV, Amir-Abdollahian immediately acknowledged Taha's concern and doubled down on the condemnation saying “The consequences of this action will be heavy for the fake Israeli regime.”
Furthermore, in response to "Israel's" acts of aggression against the al-Aqsa Mosque, Amir-Abdollahian urged the formation of an "effective legal and international mechanism to stop offensive measures against religious authority and holy sites."
On Charlie Hebdo's disrespect
Moreover, during the phone call, Amir-Abdollahian also thanked Taha for his strong position against the latest action committed by the French weekly magazine Charlie Hebdo to offend the Islamic Republic's top religious authority.
He held the French government accountable for the drawings, emphasizing that the role of Zionists may be seen through and beyond the notorious French magazine's recurrent activities against religious sanctities.
Previously, in a Twitter post, Amir-Abdollahian said "The insulting and disgraceful act of a French magazine in publishing cartoons against religious and political authorities will receive a decisive and effective response."
