Iranian FM compares region to powder keg
The Iranian Foreign Minister made remarks before leaving Jeddah.
The Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has described the regional situation by a powder keg that may become uncontrollable.
The comments were delivered by the foreign minister to reporters on Thursday before he departed Jeddah for Tehran.
He stated that the OIC extraordinary meeting's attending foreign ministers were all in agreement that the Zionist war crimes against the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank had to stop.

Amir-Abdollahian said that during his bilateral meetings with counterparts from other Muslim nations, US President Joe Biden was harshly criticized for visiting the region to demonstrate support for the Zionist regime while Zionist bombs in Gaza targeted a hospital, killing over a thousand civilians.
The foreign minister continued by saying that he and the other participating foreign ministers were concerned about the war spreading, which he saw as unavoidable given the current situation.
"I would like to announce once again loudly from Jeddah that time is running out and if the warmongers think that they can remove the resistance and Hamas from Gaza, they are mistaken," Amir-Abdollahian said.
The world today recognizes that Hezbollah is operating in its strongest circumstances, despite their earlier claims to disband and eradicate the Lebanese Resistance, he continued.
