Iranian FM met with Egyptian FM on sidelines of OIC summit
According to what the Iranian government revealed on Telegram, both ministers discussed several topics one of which is the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza.
On the sidelines of a summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian met with his Egyptian counterpart, Sameh Shoukry, according to the Iranian news agency Fars today.
The news agency, however, did not share any details on the negotiations between the ministers.

The 15th OIC Heads of State and Government Summit started on May 4 and will continue on the 5th in Banjul, Gambia.
Egypt condemned the Israeli attack on Iranian consulate
Following the Israeli occupation's attack targeting the Iranian consulate in Damascus, which occurred on April 1, resulting in the death of martyr Mohammad Reza Zahedi alongside six other martyrs from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, several countries condemned the attack including Egypt.
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the aggression, affirming its rejection of attacks on diplomatic facilities "under any pretext," expressing solidarity with Syria in "respecting its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and people."

Following the revolution in Iran, diplomatic relations between Iran and Egypt were cut in 1980 as the deposed Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi sought asylum in Egypt.
So far, there has been no official rekindling of relations between Iran and Egypt, however, steps towards normalization between both countries started in 2010.
