BREAKING
Sheikh Qassem: Our supporters make up more than half of Lebanon's population, and all of these people are united under the banner of protecting Lebanon, its Resistance, its people, and its integrity.
Sheikh Qassem: There will be no phased handing in of our arms. [The Israelis] must first enact the agreement before we start talking about a defensive strategy.
Sheikh Qassem: Be brave in the face of foreign pressures, and we will be by your side in this stance.
Sheikh Qassem: Stripping us of our arms is like stripping us of our very soul, and this will prompt us to show them our might.
Sheikh Qassem: We will not abandon our arms, for they gave us dignity; we will not abandon our arms, for they protect us against our enemy.
Sheikh Qassem: The US efforts we are seeing are aimed at sabotaging Lebanon and constitute a call for sedition.
Sheikh Qassem: If you truly want to establish sovereignty and work for Lebanon’s interests, then stop the aggression.
Sheikh Qassem: The United States, which is meddling in Lebanon, is not trustworthy but rather poses a danger to it.
Sheikh Qassem: The United States is preventing the weapons that protect the homeland.
Sheikh Qassem: The government’s latest decision [on the disarmament of the Resistance] is non-charter-based, and if the government continues down this path, it is not faithful to Lebanon’s sovereignty.

Iranian television, IRIB, revealed, on Thursday, that the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy (IRIN) had seized a Marshall Islands-flagged oil tanker, in the Gulf of Oman, after it violated international and navigation laws.

After the tanker, which the US revealed was known as Advantage Sweet, collided with an Iranian vessel, injuring several and resulting in the disappearance of crew members, an Iranian military force dropped on deck, through a helicopter, and seized the vessel.

According to the IRIN, Advantage Sweet, which carried a US payload but flew the Marshall Islands flag, attempted to escape, following the incident. It shut down its trackers, an act that contradicts international navigation laws.

The IRIN also explained that the IRIS Bayandor had been involved in the tanker's seizure after it forced it to move toward Iranian waters.

According to a statement by the US Naval Forces CentCom, "the oil tanker [Advantage Sweet] issued a distress call during the detention." The statement further called on the Iranian government to "immediately release the oil tanker."

Satellite tracking data from MarineTraffic.com showed that the vessel was located in the Gulf of Oman, north of the Omani capital Muscat, and had come from Kuwait, listing its destination as Houston, in the US state of Texas.

New submarines will join Iranian Navy fleet 'in near future'

The Commander of Iran's Navy, Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, announced that two new Fateh (Conqueror)-class submarines would join the military "in the near future."

Irani made the remark on Tuesday while highlighting the Iranian Army's recent successes and plans to improve its naval forces, stating that the Fateh-2 and Fateh-3 submarines will be added to the country's naval fleet in the near future.

The commander added that Iran also plans to add additional equipment to the southern and northern fleets.

“Regarding the addition, we will have plans in the field of surface units as well as in the field of sub-surface units. Also, we will speed up the joining of Fateh-2 and -3 to strengthen our authority in the sub-surface area.”

Concerning the new Fateh submarines' characteristics and capabilities, he stated, “Today, they are equipped with dual-purpose and domestically-made torpedoes, and all their test launches have been successful.”

Irani also stated that the Iranian Navy will soon deliver extremely good news to Iranians regarding a "unique achievement" by the Islamic Republic of Iran's Navy, which would be publicized to the media.
