Iranian president orders probe into Shah Cheragh terrorist attack
Iranian FM Hossein Amir-Abdollahian warns terrorists of dire consequences after the terrorist attack on the Shah Cheragh shrine.
Following the terrorist attack at the Shah Cheragh shrine in Shiraz, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi directed Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi and Governor of Fars Province Mohammad Hadi Imaniyeh to promptly identify and punish the perpetrators while ensuring proper care for the injured.
President Raisi instructed Minister Vahidi to conduct a thorough and expeditious investigation into the security aspects of the incident and subsequently submit a comprehensive report detailing the findings.
In separate phone conversations, President Raisi, who also serves as the chairman of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), urged the Interior Minister and the Fars Province Governor to employ all available resources to provide comprehensive care for the injured.
The attack, which was shortly after claimed by ISIS, resulted in one death and left eight others injured in Iran's southern city of Shiraz.
Reports from state media indicated that the attack involved two armed terrorists. One assailant was apprehended, while the other remains at large. Among the injured, three individuals are reportedly in critical condition.

Iran FM warns terrorists of dire consequences
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Shiraz and warned the terrorists of severe consequences in a post on X.

“The terrorist operation in the holy shrine of Hazrat Shah Cheragh is strongly condemned,” Amir-Abdollahian wrote.
“A painful end awaits the perpetrators and supporters of this crime. While condoling the martyrdom of one of my compatriots, I ask Almighty God for the health and recovery of those injured in this tragic incident,” he added.
The Shah Cheragh shrine in Shiraz was the scene of a similar attack by ISIS terrorists last year.
On October 26, 2022, an armed terrorist barged into the shrine, killing 15 worshippers, including women and children, and injuring dozens more before he was shot by security forces.
