Terrorist admits to killing 2 security officers in Iran
An Iranian criminal admits to his wrongdoings before his execution in Mashhad, Iran.
The Iranian authorities executed on Monday dawn Majid Reza Rahnavard after he had been convicted of killing two security forces members in the northern city of Mashhad as part of the riots that took place in several cities months ago.
The criminal admitted during his hearing that he killed two members of the Iranian security forces, Danial Rezazadeh and Hossein Zeinalzadeh in Mashhad, as well as sowing terror and unrest in the area.
"I was influenced by the fake news that was published on social media regarding the riots, which pushed me to stab two members of the security forces, as well as passersby, with a knife," Rahnavard said during the hearing.
"When I left my doorstep, I stabbed the first person I saw. Believe me, I do not know how many people I stabbed. I stabbed every person that tried to calm me down," he admitted.
"After I stabbed a few people, I ran away to Tehran, and then I decided to go to Turkey," he added.
The Iranian Fars news agency said Rahnavard killed two members of the Basij volunteer force and wounded four others.
"At the moment, I did not realize I was doing something inhumane. I killed my brothers. What I did was inhumane, and I wish to be punished for what I have done," he stressed.
"Majid Reza Rahnavard was hanged in public in Mashhad this morning... He was sentenced to death for 'waging war against God' after stabbing to death two members of the security forces," the judiciary's Mizan news agency reported.
One witness commented on the incident by narrating how "the criminal was stabbing Hossein Zeinalzadeh in the chest and head, therefore, I headed toward him to stop him, and he got up toward me and stabbed me. At first, I did not realize what happened, then the accused headed took his bike and headed toward the original street where martyr Danial Rezazadeh was."
"Everyone was frightened and ran away toward commercial shops, and women were screaming in the streets. The stores' owners went into their shops and shut down their businesses... I have never seen this sort of horror in the city," he added.
One of the killed officer's mother demanded that the criminal be punished for his crimes, saying: "I am aware that this will not bring back my son, but I am asking this so that no other mother grieves as I did."
On her end, Danial Rezazadeh's mother asked: "What did Danial do other than protect your families and defend your honor?"
Iran has recently been the target of Western-fueled protests since the death of Mahsa Amini, whose demise was wrongfully blamed on the Iranian police.
It is noteworthy that in late October, the Iranian Intelligence Ministry and the IRGC's intelligence wing revealed that intelligence obtained by Tehran indicates that the CIA and allied intelligence services planned a conspiracy against the Islamic Republic.
Security Council of the Iranian Interior Ministry announced on Monday that the riot toll to date since September is around 200 deaths with over $200 million in private and public property damage.
Security Council of the Iranian Interior Ministry announced last week that the riot toll to date since September is around 200 deaths with over $200 million in private and public property damage.
"As result of riots, 200 people have died as of today. They could be divided into following groups: the dead among security officers; individuals who have been killed in terrorist attacks; innocent citizens who died as result of elimination of armed groups; participants of riots, as well as members of counterrevolutionary and separatist groups," the ministry said in a statement.
Following the break-out of the riots last September, the Iranian security forces and intelligence units have uncovered numerous pieces of evidence pointing out that foreign countries are actively funding and training rioters in Iran and supplying terrorist groups with arms.
